Spoilers 31st/32nd Century Ships Revealed

Perhaps after reaching NCC-999999, Starfleet counting started over but not strictly sequential, which is why we have NCV and NCC. Already in TNG, we have wildly differing ranges of numbered - NCC-42 to NCC-80XXX.

The Nog is the highest with 32070

More angles of what I assume is the Voyager-J. It actually looks like it could be a 31st Century style Intrepid.

Highest NCC, but not the highest registry Number, the Relativity's is higher but it's NCV.

A B52 is significantly older than a B1 or B2.

According to TrekCore, CBS confirmed that the class of the Voyager-J is also Intrepid but I don't think it's intended to imply that it is a refit 24th century vessel, but a new class with the same name and similar design.

So the Voyager-J is not the ship with the four floating nacelles. I think it’s the Type-X on that ship diagram someone posted. I thought it looked similar to the original Voyager, although it was too far away to tell with 100% accuracy.

As for reusing class names...is there a precedent for that? I remember the Franklin’s original class was supposed to be “Freedom” which conflicted with the 24th century Freedom class, but that was changed before the movie came out.

The ‘1’ and the ‘52’ are not the airplanes’ registry numbers though.

There was the 22nd Intrepid class ship so I suppose there is precedence. After 1000 years of naming ships and ship classes there's bound to be repeats.

That was never called 'Intrepid-Class' in canon.

Memory-Alpha calls it 'intrepid-type' because the only named example on screen was called Intrepid. That's how they handle most ships that don't have a class name over there.

The 22nd century Intrepid was just the name of the ship. It wasn’t its class. The class would have been NV or something.

Edit: Ninja’d by @Tuskin38

I would prefer that if there’s a 32nd century Enterprise, that it’s a unique design that we haven’t seen yet. But I think it’s more likely that we’ll see a new Enterprise in PIC, not DSC.
