Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

Good episode.
When I saw that it was a "Ground Hog day" I did a bit of an eyeroll.
But they used the standard time loop tropes and still made it interesting.
Enoch just pulling out the part while they are debating his fate, wow. That was a Data level sacrifice and gut wrenching to watch him go. Hey, I got a soft spot for selfless androids.
Looking forward to next week.

So is there hope that Enoch will be back ? I hope so... because it would be sad if he never got a chance to re connect with Fitz. And I forgot that they are in a time when Enoch is out there somewhere.

I am surprised no one mentioned how Enoch sacrificed himself in the future too.

At least this time he had a proper goodbye.

I love a good time loop story and this one was one of the best yet.

I loved how when the episode started, Daisy's realization that she was stuck in a time loop wasn't actually the beginning of the time loop as we find out from Coulson. Instead, they've been at it for awhile but Daisy forgot. Because she died. Repeatedly.

Even better, this wasn't just your typical time loop for two reasons. One, most time loop stories exist on the assumption that it will be infinite unless broken, but in this case, we quickly find out that while it may seem infinite, the Zephyr is literally and slowly going down the drain. Two, and much more importantly, this particular time loop story opened the door to reveal how two particular characters who seemingly face immortality deal with that fact...and how they may suddenly discover the end.

Despite knowing Daisy and Coulson were about to have a very difficult conversation with Enoch about how to escape the time loop with his essential help, I steeled myself for the inevitable and I thought I was ready for it. But I was wrong. So wrong. I completely lost it when Enoch, without missing a beat, reached into his chest and pulled out the necessary technobabble MacGuffin, at the cost of his own existence.

I loved how Coulson and Daisy stayed at Enoch's side as he began to die, as he began to wax about his very long existence and what it meant to feel, to be alive, to be alone, to die, all in a span of a few short minutes. How he grew to care for these wonderful and crazy agents of SHIELD, and especially for Fitz, who has never been more missed during this season than at that very moment. And in that quiet observation, Enoch unknowingly helped Coulson deal with his own struggle with becoming immortal and watching his friends die repeatedly in a time loop and knowing he'll have to watch it all again in reality outside of the time loop.

This is the show at its finest. Filled with heroics and science fiction and, at the heart of the story, these incredible characters. The end is near and we've already begun to say goodbye. The future is uncertain and yet Enoch made an ominous prediction before he left us...

It's so exciting for Daisy to have a love-interest I don't find some combination of creepy, annoying, or viscerally loathsome. It took the entire run of the series, and they had to steal him from another show, but they finally did it.
Yessss, exactly this. I've hated Ward, Lincoln, and Deke (even though that was a one-sided love interest) and not even because of their connection with Daisy. They were simply awful characters and she deserved better.

I loved how Daisy slowly began to realize what Sousa was doing and I loved that the episode took the time (and an entire loop) to let the two of them talk about what was going on between them. And I loved that she kissed him not then, but at the beginning of a later loop.

I wonder if Daisy will tell him about those two moments later on, if she has the time. That'll be a fun conversation!

Did you timeloop too and see what my post was gonna be exactly? ;)
Spot on with all the feelings about the episode and characters!

ONE IF NOT THE FAVORITE EPISODE OF THE WHOLE SERIES for me!!!
gutwrenching and very moving with Enoch, Daisy and Coulson.
Funny-Looping in between
and finally sparks flying between Daisy and Souza Horray <3

Great minds think and feel alike! :D

The initial expectation of disappointment about a cliché time loop completely disappeared during the “die again” exchange. First of all, that was hilarious, second of all I love Coulson and Daisy, third I've ever never seen a show do a time loop within another time loop (in a manner of speaking).

Nor have I seen one that reversed the actual stakes – instead of giving you more time to resolve the problem, it drastically cut it while giving you the false impression that you got more, and it also did deceive the viewer to the same effect, so you and Daisy both realized you've been hanging around wasting precious time simultaneously OMG. It's something to suddenly feel rushed in one of those things. It managed to fulfil the promise made in the last episode (time travel mumbo jumbo with less and less time left), without having to cut the exposition of it as well. That was nice.

And the presence of a killer who doesn't remember they are in a loop and they've been fought before, but is still formidable to beat, that was another brink that made that all worth it. Oh, and I totally suspected Simmons for a second there.

Then of course there was the exploration of Coulson watching everyone die over and over, and thinking of the time when he's going to watch everyone die as he lives, and Enoch's sacrifice done in such heartbreaking Enoch fashion.

Yeah, if you're going to pull out an old trope, at least be sure to execute it to perfection and I think they did a pretty good job.

I suspected Simmons for precisely the same reason why Enoch ultimately turned about to be the killer: A hidden programming in their mind as a further layer of protection for Fitz.

But what about Deke?

But what about Deke?

If you want the girl, you have to sack up and tell her.

Lemons.

Its not her job to wait around incase someone is of a mind to break ranks and surprise her with admissions of deep and all consuming love.

Women don't have it easy, waiting for her friends, like landmines one after the next in clusters demanding to be lovers with barely any warning.

Shit dude, if I wanted that, we'd already be canoodling.

I don't think Sousa is after a relationship, he just wants to be her sidekick in the coming war, so that she is strong when she needs to be strong so the day is won.

When Sousa looks at Daisy, all he sees is Peggy going to war.

Daisy on the other hand is going to feel all this respect and admiration, mistake it for attraction and reciprocate.

And then it's just polite to let her take advantage.

Deke can be overeager but I feel like he has a good heart and likes to have fun and likes making others around him feel welcoming. Especially now that he has been able to escape his terrible future environment.
