Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

Okay posters, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's coooold out there today.

Jason

I get to see this episode tonight with everyone else. The last time that happened was when I originally was watching the series and then bowed out after the first three episodes way back in (I think) 2013. So glad I came back to it and spent the last month watching every episode. When I was done it felt so odd that I couldn't do a 4 episode night like I was used to doing.

I hope this episode is good even though it looks like a Groundhog Day/Time Loop episode. We better see Fitz either after the "We will return in a moment" or in the teaser for next week. By the way, if you watch the series on Netflix, they don't have the "We will return in a moment" during the Shield Logo flash. When I switched over to my recordings, that sounded so weird. I also thought that part was like The Flash at the end of their episodes where they do the logo and then have a bit of a tease for next week. Here they actually go to commercials.

Welcome @tomalak301 ! Glad you can share your insight with us in this final lap.

What do you think of the season so far.

I am NOT looking forward to tonight's episode... it feels like a filler episode... i will be happy to be made wrong if this approaches Stagate's Window of Opportunity level of quality.

Yeah, I was having the same thought. This is way to late in the game for filler, so there better be more to this than just the time loop.

I really enjoyed the first half of the season up to when they brought Daniel onto the Zepher. I loved going back to the 1930s and the 1950s and the Noir episode was probably the best episode of the series since Season 5. However, starting with episode 6, I'm starting to worry that there is too much going on and the end of the series will be rushed. I mean you have the screw ups of the timeline, Nethaniel is still out there, what happens with the Chronicoms and Sybil, and I still want them to have enough time to say goodbye to this cast. Having just watched the 100th episode and the wedding between Fitz and Simmons maybe 2 weeks ago, I really want them to have a scene of that emotional gravitas before the series ends.

I'm excited to be at this point of watching the show with you guys as it airs, but I really hope they didn't go overboard with various stories to the point where the final few episodes will not have the emotional impact this series deserves to end it's run.

Felt like a budget saving episode since they just used the Zephyr existing sets pretty much.

That was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I got a little emotional for Enoch's death, and now that he's not around they can take the implant out of Simmons and go full boar to finishing the series. They might be able to do that in 4 episodes and not have it feel rushed. I still want Fitz back sooner rather than later though.

They made great use of the Loop troupe. This was fast paced and high energy and I was entertained the entire hour.

Calling it right now: Jemma scooped out Fitz's brain and he's been floating in a tank behind some hidden panel, hooked up the the Zepher's computer the whole time...

As sad and affecting as Enoch's death was, it's somewhat mitigated by the fact there's probably another Enoch out there. Granted one that has never met them and is still just an anthropologist as he has always been...but still.
