DIS or DSC?

Which I thought was the case when I saw a production photo from the cast that had printed T-shirts read "DISCO"

If the series is making it clear than why shouldn't we?

Enterprise shirts should say ENTE

People who use DSC and VGR also have to use ETP instead of ENT, PCD instead of PIC, ISR instead of INS, BYD instead of BEY... :p

I only use DSC because I saw it first.

DSC is also used by the show, the shuttle craft ID's all start with DSC.
It might not be an abbreviation, because the Shenzhou shuttle craft use SHN (the mirror ones use SHNZ).

However, it could easily stand for Discovery Shuttle Craft, as we see 2 other shuttles in the series, SPT and SMT, which were Starfleet Prison and Medical Transports

Though that wouldn't make sense as there's probably hundreds of Starfleet ships that start with the letter 'D'.

Yep, DSC is definitely Used in the show, but more importantly it is confirmed as the correct abbreviation by the creators.

DSC... meh. Well,m not really "meh" but let's get back to that in a moment.

"DISCO" - the shirts look stupid, and are also about 40 years out of date as this isn't Studio 54... Really, how many of the Excalibur wore shirts reading "EX" on them? Or better yet, the Lexington so they'd all have shirts that remind the viewer of Superman's greatest foe because, snarf snarf, fourth wall so cooool and fuddny.

DIS comes across as its acronym, and seeing people running around with "DIS" on their shirt might send the wrong messages... so I'll try not to dis it any more...

Then again, running around wearing shirts reading "STD"... can't get any worse than that. Seeing Sargent Syph running with Captain Clap is not something most people would want to tune into every week... unless it's my ex...

DSC just seems to be the best. Not just because there's no humor in it. It is the better sounding abbreviation and suits the show the best. The other possible terms... waaay out there too much IMHO. :)

Three years and I finally have my go-to argument. Short, simple, and to the point. Thanks @Qonundrum!

From now on, I'm going to put it like this: "Which one would you want to have as a T-shirt?" I guarantee you no one wants to walk around in a T-Shirt that says "STD". And, if you are, you're probably not anyone I want to know. :p
