Don’t worry... they won’t. If the suits were so afraid to have a Sovereign class starship of any kind flying around during the Dominion War in DS9, for fear of “confusing” the fanbase into thinking it must be the Enterprise-E (an insulting notion to any legitimate fan, but whatever), they sure as fuck won’t reuse a previous show’s name for another completely new show.

Star Trek isn't produced or managed by any of the same people from before 2006.

There are always universal constants. One of them is the executive suit class of the company constantly underestimating the intelligence of the fan base. The names may be different now, but the mentality remains the same.

CBS reuses show titles all the time for reboots and continuations alike. If they want to call it “Star Trek: Enterprise”, they will.

Calling this"Star Trek: Enterprise" might be the stupidest naming decision in the history of any franchise. MAYBE you could argue for it if they had called ENT "Enterprise" with no Star Trek like they did in the first two seasons.

Fuck. Somebody tell Sam Esmail and his Battlestar Galactica sequel called Battlestar Galactica, or Josh Schwartz and his Gossip Girl sequel called Gossip Girl, or the Saved By The Bell team doing the new spin-off with the same name, or Greg Berlanti who is about to start work on the 7th season of The Flash despite there already being a show called that from 1990 with actors and characters crossing over between them both.

Please won’t somebody think of the children.

(There are plenty of examples of continuations or spinoffs using the same name as the original show. Get over it. This show is currently called Star Trek: Enterprise, that’s the fucking title CBS has put down in its production pack. Get. Over. It.)

I didn’t know that show existed until I joined this forum. I think it’s better used here in hindsight versus the show that originally used it. Especially good if this Pike series is an anthology series, where we eventually end up at TOS, or even beyond that.
