People just can't resist engaging...Seriously people, why are we doing this again? This thread is about The High Republic. Not The Last Jedi.
If it's about the High Republic than I guess it's about diversity. Because.. they wrote it TWICE on the dry erase board .. it's that important. If they wrote "dinosaurs" twice we'd be talking about that. Hell we can talk about anything, because they are literally just throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks.. there's no vision here.. just corporate mongeringSeriously people, why are we doing this again? Too reasonable.Maybe we should actually see what they put out as a finished product before we make sweeping statements about what we believe their intent is.
If it's all the same, I won't post anymore until we know more. Fair enough.m I just want to say that they can slap the logo on it, doesn't mean I'll like it by default.
Don't think I'm just a Disney hater. I liked the two "story" films and the Mandalorian.
Wrong on ever single point. My point is that SW is not a movie ABOUT diversity . That theya re trying to make it about diversity is like making a mobster film and then people claiming its about flowers because there is a vase a flowers in a scene
Really if there is any flaw is that it should have been Leia who made the jump and Holdo should have just been Leia. I can see that they didn’t want to kill Leia in the same movie Leia dies and then later Fisher’s death likely contributed a lot. Her death would’ve been Poe’s version of Luke seeing Obi-Wan die. It also would have more of an impact of Kylo and Luke’s confrontation and be part of why Finn would try to sacrifice himself. The movie could’ve ended with the new main three coming together dealing with the loss of their mentors but fully prepared to carry on their legacy.I don't buy the argument that the script of TLJ is flawed because a droid could have made the jump through the Super Star Destroyer into hyperspace.
For one thing, it is a theme of the Saga, since the original film and throughout all of the prequels, that droids are inferior tacticians to trained soldiers. Holdo was therefore better able to handle the gamut of contingencies that could have occurred, including whether to commit to the suicide maneuver.
Further, as a question of trust, abandoning your ship to a machine when the entire Resistance's survival is on the line would be an extraordinarily irresponsible dereliction of duty.
So, yeah, what I was saying.
That's a pretty good idea.Really if there is any flaw is that it should have been Leia who made the jump and Holdo should have just been Leia. Maybe something goes wrong when you clone a Force user, that's why Snoke looked messed up. He isn't scarred, that a side effect of how he was made. The Emperor's clone body isn't capable of supporting his essence and that's why he's on life support and falling apart.so the high republic is something they will publish?
Okay so what is the latest publication?
The Rise of Skywalker novelization...
... which states that Palpatine in that story was a clone..
nice retcon.. nice vision, Lucasfilm.
What were all the life support things for then?
Lucasfilm is an utter mess, working without vision
souunds good to me.Maybe something goes wrong when you clone a Force user, that's why Snoke looked messed up. He isn't scarred, that a side effect of how he was made. The Emperor's clone body isn't capable of supporting his essence and that's why he's on life support and falling apart.
that is preposterous. There was nothing smart about that filmThey were overreacting to the people who didn't get TLJ, so they dumbed it down for them.
They're making a Revan Force FX saber, so we'll likely see some products if a particular character is popular enough. This seems like they're attempting something like Shadows of the Empire, but as a whole new saga instead of a mid-sequel without a film. I got the impression they were wanting to do novels, comics, and eventually video games and maybe a TV series set in this period. I think they're just testing the waters with the initial offerings.Do you think Lego and other toy makers might put out merchandise if the High Republic proves to be popular?
(Could we stop feeding the troll, please? Once you’ve blocked him it’s clear the threat has derailed into purely replying to his views).
I'm sure it could happen. Shadows of the Empire had its own toyline in 1996 and we the first Thrawn action figure as early as 1998. Time will tell, I guess.Do you think Lego and other toy makers might put out merchandise if the High Republic proves to be popular?
