There's no evidence for either. Besides I don't think that would be particularly relevant for the growth of those characters.
Addendum to my previous comment: it shouldn't be interpreted in a wrong way. I am the first one to acknowledge equality of all sexual orientations, and I respect people who are homosexual just as any other heterosexual, or whatever the choice, but what really is annoying is how they now seem to have a need to make a big deal out of it. Those things can be depicted subtly and in a passive manner, so to speak, instead of throwing it into the faces of the audience. (The Orville has done that right, I'd say, Star Trek-fashion, with those two Moclan characters aboard and their personal relationship)
