Yes but are they canon?Did anyone else notice the QWERTY keyboard come up in the shuttlecraft? There very, very rare in Trek.
Or just too advanced.

Yes, but only for another 6 years - after which Starfleet goes to the QWERTY 'jellybean colored' keyboards...in a 23rd century ergonomic layout.Yes but are they canon?
Or just too advanced.![]()
The upgraded probe reminded me of the sentinels from the Matrix.
I do think that people were expecting/wanting a continuation of TNG/VOY style Trek but instead got a serialized TOS which is throwing some fans for a loop. I for one am loving how much it's giving me TOS space adventure vibes while being more modernized in its narrative format and production values.

Never saw it, have to check it out sometime.I
Or the Europan whatever the hell it was from Project Europa.
Besides, Orville already has that covered.I probably wouldn't have been very interested if it was a TNG/VOY style show. We have hours and hours of that style already. All good stuff, I like those shows, but it wouldn't have hit me with any particular passion.
I think the producers and studio knew it was time for a different approach.

STARLOG use to post a bunch of fan letters in each issue.Fanzines.
No one ever said fan expectations were consistent.
Indeed. Palpatine would be proud. (At least moreso than he is of his own fandom.)
Remember back in the days of the old "Picard and Data" show when there was this two-parter about this mysterios group of Borgs that turned out to be controlled by Data's brother just to get Data to join him on the dark side?
Where were the "Why is everything connected to Picard and Data in the Picard and Data show?" comments then?
I don't get this new trend in hate for continuity.
Some of us like world building and that requires SOME consistency.
To say that cannon or continuity restricts writers is bollocks and a excuse for lazy writing.
Sure minor error errors will creep in and there will be updates in visual design, that's ok.
But to radically change the star trek universe? No.
The star trek universe is HUGE, there is enough potential to tell storys without rebooting every 5 minutes.
