From the previews next week but based on your opinin of the show I think you should skip it because you are not going to like it.

I think most people who are only sticking around for Spock or who are tuning out until Spock shows up will be disappointed. If they don't like everything the show is doing so far, why should they expect Spock to be any different? They shouldn't.

At this point, I don't write reviews that take this cheesy show seriously. Especially after last week's cringe-fest.

If I wrote a review for The Expanse or other sci-fi shows that are written in a more intelligent manner and respect their audience, you'd see the different tone in my review and how I express my views.
Maybe act like an adult then.

This is my last reply in regards to your review.

I'm definitely not expecting Speck to be good. I'm just curious how bad it will be. You can't blame those who already have an invested interest in the Spock character to want to see how this new version will turn out. That's what CBS counted on by digging up Pike, Spock, the Enterprise, Number One, etc.

If he shows up next week, I'll just look up the scenes he's in. Don't want to watch the rest.

Next Season:

Bryce: Captain, there's a distress call from Kaminar. They're requesting help.

Saru: But that's my home planet! The Ba'ul just can't help themselves.

Burnham: Scans show that Ba'ul population has declined... drastically. They're being wiped out!

~~
And we see firsthand why the Prime Directive is important, and why the Red Angel is a jerk.

This might be a possibility, that could happen in Season 2 if Cyrus is right...

Episode 12 has the same writers/director team as this one and the Short Trek Kelpian mini-episode. So it could be another Saru/Kelpians/Ba'ul episode

Great episode. While they may not do it often, when the Discovery crew do land on a planet, they definitely make each experience unique.

I think the red angel might be a Starfleet officer from the far future. He or she is possibly a temporal agent or V'drayish officer tasked with making sure Federation members (like the Humans or Kelpians) have the most fortuitous history to ensure the Federation remains dominant into the 31st century and beyond.

It would be interesting to see what happens on Kaminar (spelling?) years from now. This could a good plot thread for the Picard show, if Picard became an ambassador.

I that get you are insecure about your opinions on the show, but you're really not in a position to be that condescending, lol.

Everything I post is thought-out and intentional, even when I don't take STD seriously.

The Original Series =TOS
The Animated Series =TAS
The Next Generation =TNG
Deep Space 9 =DS9
Voyager =VOY
Enterprise =ENT
So Discover =DIS or as the show likes DISCO

Calling it STD (besides the obvious crude joke) just doesn't fit into the naming scheme

No need to be anal about STD. It seems to be a widely accepted abbreviation for this show, that works on multiple levels. As long as popular YT channels with 100K to a mil regular views are using it, it's still in style and relevant.

I found this to be very solid Star Trek. You have the basic tenets of the series since the beginning of new civilizations. You have the idea of a race using their own ingenuity in order to save themselves (with a a little help from our heroes) and now the Kepliens and the Ba’ul must overcome their differences in order to find a new balance. It’s a damned good story if you ask me.

9/10.

It's only used by the shows detractors and is purposely insulting. It also doesn't fit with the abbreviation for any of the other series

When the Ba'ul told Saru he didn't even know what he was, I suspected that the Ba'ul were actually just a population of evolved Kelpians who essentially ate their young. And in a way, wouldn't that be a helluva lot creepier?

Shit. Saru's going to shoot himself in the foot with his newfound fearlessness.

EDIT: Arrghhhh! This is a painful (a good painful!), Saru just doesn't know when to quit when Pike says he wouldn't be a good choice to go down on the planet surface. Saru? What the Hell are you doing?! It's like he's 14 or something.

I don't think even Worf ever pulled those physical intimidation moves with a captain, even in First Contact. You almost forget Saru is like 7 ft tall when he's being sweet, but he looked like he could drop kick Pike across the bridge if he lost his temper. He was also exhibited more physical dominance with Culbert...when the latter flinched from Saru's touch, Saru very deliberately replaced his hand anyway.

I find calling the show STD juvenile but I also try not to give those who do so any response. It has been litigated. Again. And again. And again. And again. It’s not worth it.

Just let it go.
