Might give this one a 7. Liked the Ba’ul look. Are they supposed to be the Tasha killer race or something similar.

No they are covered in ooze and seem to be aquatic but they clearly have bodies.
This may sound strange but I am getting more suspicious of the Red Angel not less. Even though He/She seems to be doing good.

gave it a surprised 8. after the Kelpian short trek episode which was rather underwhelming, this was more in the whelming territory and was actually a solid episode.

9? 9. I have a feeling we'll see more with the Kelpians, sooner rather than later. Not quite sure about Burnham's last line about going to Vulcan. Otherwise, it's good to know at least one civilization can stop believing in lies. I can't really say the same about ours.

I found this pretty gripping, for the most part. Fell down at the end a bit, but overall I thought it was one of Discovery's better hours.

The stuff with Saru and his sister was well done. The dialogue was sufficiently mannered to seem alien without distancing us from the characters. That's a tough balance. Doug Jones delivered, as usual.

The Ba'ul had a cool look, even if it was a bit OTT evil. I wondered if they were originally kelp creatures that lived in the ocean. I hope we get more explanation about them, including how they developed such advanced technology while being pursued to the brink of extinction by the Kelpians.

I don't get what's going on with Tyler. How is he trusted, even by Section 31, not to be a Klingon spy?

The Red Angel ending was my main disappointment with the spisode. It just felt underwhelming after some fine work building tension.

I really hope the Red Angel isn't a time traveler from the future, but it was nice to get a little concrete information on that plotline.

It has nothing to do with your hate, but the way you express it.
I don't see anything in your reviews that can be taken seriously either.

At this point, I don't write reviews that take this cheesy show seriously. Especially after last week's cringe-fest.

If I wrote a review for The Expanse or other sci-fi shows that are written in a more intelligent manner and respect their audience, you'd see the different tone in my review and how I express my views.

Episode 12 has the same writers/director team as this one and the Short Trek Kelpian mini-episode. So it could be another Saru/Kelpians/Ba'ul episode

Yes, I'm not sure why anyone - Pike, Burnham - would be convinced that the Kelpians will create some just new balance. They were the original predators, after all. And Saru certainly is undergoing some personality changes minus the fear ganglia.

I find it hard to believe the planet will become some model of interspecies cooperation, but maybe I'm just cynical.

Next Season:

Bryce: Captain, there's a distress call from Kaminar. They're requesting help.

Saru: But that's my home planet! The Ba'ul just can't help themselves.

Burnham: Scans show that Ba'ul population has declined... drastically. They're being wiped out!

~~
And we see firsthand why the Prime Directive is important, and why the Red Angel is a jerk.
