You can’t take any more?

No. I think that if we let it continue to get to us, the people who are out to get a specific reaction will get exactly what they want. It’s very obvious that they want people to get upset. And after almost two years, people still are.

I was making a Frozen reference sorry

I use STD without it meaning a VD. It’s just Star Trek Discovery abbreviated.

STD is just stupid though, because it doesn't follow the naming protocol of the other series, which is basically either:

1. First letter each word following Star Trek in the title (TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9), or...
2. If a single world title, first three letters of the word following Star Trek in the title (VOY, ENT).

We don't talk about STTOS, STTAS, STTNG, STDS9, STV, or STE. Why would we talk about STD?

It doesn’t bother me. But there are those out there who call it that just to get a reaction.

I have to say that the decision free the Kelpians without really having a plan for the next step did come across as very TOS. It did seem odd that Pike ended up being deferential to his subordinates at first, but given that Burnham is the expert in the field as he himself pointed out, , it makes sense he would accept her advice..

Any post that uses the word "cucked" makes me roll my eyes and move on.

Must be my "manlier than thou" attitude.

Not at all. Quite consistent. If Pike ended up rejecting Burnham's advice or talking down to her, he'd be dead like the Admiral from Binary Stars, Lorca and Lt. Mansplaining.

I'm of two minds. If this were TOS, we'd never hear about what happened to the Kelpians again, and we could assume that they'll no longer live under the Ba'ul's thumb and leave it at that.

But this isn't TOS. So, since there's a good chance we'll hear from them again, I expect another shoe to drop. So General Order 1 could become The Prime Directive if one isn't just another name for the other.

Prime Directive and General Order 1 are the same thing.

The figures seen in the Kaminar population history do not make much sense to me.

So, over 2,200 years ago, there 23059 Ba'ul, 26534 unevolved Kelpien, and 29169 evolved Kelpien. According to what we see, the evolved Kelpien did not grow larger in numbers, staying slighly north of 29,000 but south of 29,500. Instead, the unevolved Kelpien were wiped out and the Ba'ul were reduced to 250 or so individuals. Then, suddenly, the Ba'ul jump to 810 individuals and the evolved Kelpien were wiped. out About this time, there were 30 or so unevolved Kelpiens. So, if the evolved Kelpiens are wiped out, then where did the unevolved Kelpiens come from? There were no unevolved Kelpiens, which would seem to be a requirement for them to exist, available for a new breed of their species. They were dead when the Ba'ul were on the ascendancy. And, if the Ba'ul did succeed in wiping out their enemy, then why woud they resurrect a dead species?

on the plus side we didn't get a weird argument full of strawmen about whether it would be moral to save the kelpians.

Why are we interested in ressurecting dead or preserving near dead species? Especially those who tend to kill us when they get the chance?
