I believe Alan McElroy and Vaun Wilmott (who co-wrote the "New Eden" episode) were added due to previous religious related writing they had done.

In one interview Kurtzman was asked about new writers on the staff and he seem very high on Michelle Paradise. She is listed (on IMDB) as co-writer (along with Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet) for the last 2 episodes of he season. So the season finale may be a two parter. When they increased from 13 to 14 episode it may have been to expand the season finale.

7:30pm EST as of this typing. The torturous 50-minute wait...

When they increased from 13 to 14 episode it may have been to expand the season finale.

I agree. I think this is probably most likely. Given the choice between cutting it all the way down and breaking it in half, I prefer them breaking it in half.

Michelle Paradise also writes episode 9 I believe

Interesting malfunction with the Universal Translator!

Stamets and Reno get along about as well as me and some other people.

Tilly's hair looks straight out of 1988 when it's frizzed out. :p

I feel like they're poking fans over the whole Klingon subtitles thing.

Enterprise should never have those stupid holographic comms to start off with.

Worst moment of the episode when they brought that up. It's franchise management, not storytelling. I'd rather they just say "this is what TOS looks like now, deal with it."
