I would love to see them do their own version of a mirror universe but instead of everyone being evil, everyone is basically perfect and snobby a-holes.
I should rephrase that the crew won't take them as seriously. I imagine the people playing the top secret agents of the Union will be played super straight. As I said, picture Colonel Flagg (and other Army Intelligence officers) portrayed in M*A*S*H, possibly with a little bit of MIB mixed in.I would be disappointed if they went that route.

Malloy being an ace pilot who is no nonsense with no sense of humor.Mercer and Grayson married with 2.3 kids.
Grayson - What kind of Hell is this?
Okay, just watched the new commercial posted above. "This ship is sick, man." Elephant Man already rocks!
Malloy being an ace pilot who is no nonsense with no sense of humor.
Gordon: Man I'm such a dick here...

So basically, it's the actual Star Trek universe.I would love to see them do their own version of a mirror universe but instead of everyone being evil, everyone is basically perfect and snobby a-holes.
Section 69![]()
I just assumed Mustached Bortus was from the mirror universe.
There may be an opening at some point for MacFarlane to mock that kind of shit, at least in passing.
The Orville doesn't make fun of Star Trek on fundamental levels but it does make good gags of some of the franchise's narrative tics and cliche moves. Mercer says "open a channel to the other ship" and starts into his address only to have Alara tell him that she hasn't made the connection yet.
Nonsense like Section 31 is ripe for mockery.
That looks gorgeous.
Episode, If the Stars Should AppearFandom, the site that used to be Wikia, has a nice overview of what to expect in Season 2.
Which episode was Liam Neeson in? I think I vaguely remember seeing him, but I can't remember who he was or which episode he was in
