At some points in history in some places of the world some of those people were not considered 'white' even if they did look white.A human can be white and hispanic , just ask all those white, germanic, nordic, anglo saxon, celtic humans

I actually didn't think DSC was intended as a prequel to TOS as stated above, so that we will stop complaining of its lack of independence.
Is that really the case? I thought it was going to be its own thing, but just set i n the before times; and was now skewing prequel.
W ere it intended as prequel, I guess I would stand corrected.
It would be a prequel in the way Batman Begins or Gotham are a prequel to the Tim Burton Batman movies. I.E. not at all.How could it not be a prequel? It's set before TOS. Even if it never mentioned a single TOS character or event, it would still be a prequel.
massive retcons to Federation technology and pre-TOS history
How canb they use the original actor for Spock or Sarek since both have passed away? Casting new actors in lead roles for long running IPs is nothing new.
Look at the Superman IP:

^^^
So, yeah, sorry given just how many popular IPs of science fiction, fantasy, etc. maintain their popularity over many decades; to say - "OK, the original actors are retired/passed so using that IP is off the table because..." is a bit ridiculous.
Try again....Thanks for the diversity lesson. I was making a joke.
Because Anglo/Northern European culture were racist and prejudiced against anyone with Catholic rootsAt some points in history in some places of the world some of those people were not considered 'white' even if they did look white.
At what point did anyone associated with Gotham say it was a prequel to Burton's films (or any other)? It would be a prequel in the way Batman Begins or Gotham are a prequel to the Tim Burton Batman movies. I.E. not at all.
And with completely reimagined Klingons and Klingon ships (season 2 course correction aside), massive retcons to Federation technology and pre-TOS history and big thematic differences, it is not hard at all to see Discovery in the same light. I believe it would have made for a far better show than the weird nonsensical mix of reboot, retcon and prequel we got.
College (DS9 and everything after that): Section 31 is behind everything.
Section 31 is a puerile idea. It sucks.
I'm surprised that somehow Section 31 managed to neglect having an agent on the strongest Federation ship, the Enterprise NCC-1701-D. I'm particularly thinking of "I, Borg". There's no way Section 31 would have let Hugh off the Enterprise without him carrying that invasive virus Picard had originally planned on infecting Hugh with.![]()
Section 31 is about the ONLY way you could explain how the Federation and Starfleet survived into the 24th Century with Captins like Picard who never bothers to even return fire until the ship is damaged ad they have casualties:
See:
TNG - "The Battle"
TNG - "Q Who" (Hell, Picard call a Conference and adjourns to the briefing lounge in the MIDDLE of a combat.)
TNG - "Best of Both Worlds"
etc.![]()
Here is a prediction for season 2: Spock, Sarek, and Pike will not die. No matter what kind of danger they may face they will survive.
Michelle Yeoh confirmed that her Section 31 character is working behind the scenes while also interacting with Pike: https://trekmovie.com/2018/10/08/ny...s-whats-new-for-their-characters-in-season-2/ .However, Pike will get sick of being surronded by death yet again and mention a possible offer of promotion.
What other bad things did DS9 bring to canon? Just curious, I was wondering as a huge DS9 fan what others might not have liked.No.
The ship he was on was old and full of cadets. Section 31 can fuck right off out of canon, the worst thing DS9 ever brought into Star Trek, and that's saying something.
I'm surprised that somehow Section 31 managed to neglect having an agent on the strongest Federation ship, the Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
Best of Both Worlds Part 1--Nothing in canon says it was the strongest ship.
I stand corrected.Best of Both Worlds Part 1--
Borg: Captain Jean Luc Picard, you lead the strongest ship of the Federation fleet. You speak for your people.

The Kelvinverse films were well-liked, well-designed
To you perhaps there isn't, to me there is a huge difference. I am exited about the Picard show exactly because it is Sir Patrick returning to the role. Sometimes recasting works but sometimes it is just lazy leeching on previous actor's work. There really isn't.
It's a long list. DS9 is basically a show by people who don't like TNG to people who don't like TNG.What other bad things did DS9 bring to canon? Just curious, I was wondering as a huge DS9 fan what others might not have liked.
