I liked the reveal of the Klingon occupation of Starbase 1. That was cool. And Cornwell was good, though her paralysis at a critical moment made me question her fitness for permanent command, as did the absurd twist at the end.

The Voq stuff was terrible, from Tilly hammering Burnham how Tyler is now Just. Like. Her. to the whole tedious confrontation scene between Ash and Michael. Didn't work for me at all. Maybe I'd be more forgiving if they'd sold the romance better.

Did they explain how the spores repopulated so quickly? That made that whole panic kind of pointless, didn't it?

    Man, I missed Jason Isaacs.

Perhaps but it could be a good way to fix all these weird errors they’ve done with the Klingons and ship design. It could their Flashpoint. :)

My big beef is starfleet is being stupid. They let MU Lorca run Discovery and do what he wanted and now they are giving it to MU Georgio. This just seems like a bad idea.

I wonder though if the Cromwell we are seeing though may be MU Cromwell who escaped the ISS Discovery distruction.

    Seems unlikely.

    Starfleet is just very desperate

Could be, I guess we'll find out about her intention next week.

This is tough. I don't like to do halves, but I'm going to have to call this 7.5.

And, yeah, I wish we could've seen Captain Killy and the ISS Discovery.

Maybe this is why Section 31 is created, so that morons aren't in charge when the shit hits the fan.

Yeah but what is to prevent Georgio from doing the same thing Lorca did and hijacking the jump and send them back to the MU? She wants to go home more then she cares about the war.

I guess she's trying to find a way to return to her universe. I'm sure she wants to use Discovery's spore drive to bring her back to the MU, the same way Lorca used it to bring Discovery to his universe earlier.

We'll see whether Burnham will let her do so during next week's finale. I hope by then she realizes that the Georgiou who was her mentor is long dead and the new Captain Georgiou is a different animal with her own agenda...

    Oops. I meant 2257.

What I meant was the Farragut incident happened sometime in the interim and he's since gone back to the academy to teach.

I mean, since info on what happened on the Farragut is sketchy, it's not a big stretch to think that, while most of Starfleet was being gobbled up, being stuck on some whatever planet like Tyco IV might leave much of the crew in a bad state and prone to error.

Very solid episode. Didn't miss Isaacs at any point.

Thought the Tilly/Ash & Ash/Burnham acenes were well done & believable.

Some expo on the spore stuff would have been nice, but whatever.

Georgiou in command is the only way they can play it. Cromwell is there to trump her if necessary. Though Saru/Burnham should have been in on it.

That was my favorite part : ) Death to Captain Killy.

I wonder if Prime Lorca was a prisoner on ISS Discovery and managed to escape before the attack.

There's no doubt Prime Lorca is alive. Cornwell made such an unfounded definitive statement that he is dead, which means he has to be alive. Predictable twist.

Well, I can see twenty different ways in which this can go sideways, several of which leave the way clear for a lot of Starfleet officers and ratings to have Problems dealing with Klingons for the rest of their days. Including Jim Kirk and company.

Then again, fifteen months of war...a lot of motive for that already.

Now that was an episode of Discovery.

Why can't all 14 to date have been this good?

Spore stuff was reminiscent (to me) of the Genesis Project.

Let's hope. This feels like something just asking to happen. I think Georgiou will have Discovery do a little too well against the Klingons.

Felt weird mentioning Archer and the NX-01. They feel like very different shows to me.
