Not really. They’ve made a few minor blunders but nothing drastic.

There’s room to suggest that at least part of the Federation was conquered — discussion of Vulcan being conquered pre TOS. So I think that if they could go to that extent maybe it would work. I dunno. Let’s wait and see before we get all out of sorts.

And to me, canon is a crutch that is a nice background but I don’t think we need to be married to it if the story is good. But I respect others disagree with me.

The trailer for next week only says 20%, not the entire federation, Saru was probably overreacting

And I lost all interest in your post.

Sad that you're so easily triggered. But I can recall multiple instances during the press junket where the producers mentioned the socio-political intentions with the series and what they were trying to push. They weren't shy about doing that.

Given that, sadly there's no way Jason Isaacs could have played a respectable authority figure, or even a hero.

Amusingly he was a villain, and not even a very good or memorable villain sadly. I knew he'd be defeated and killed so unceremoniously, in the interest of elevating other characters.

 Ok, ok, fair point. I just meant that I have talked with a lot of people about how it was a real shame that we were going to lose Lorca. So perhaps I should have said, "A lot of us were afraid this was coming".

I'm just trying to convince myself that getting Michelle Yeoh back is a completely fair trade for losing Jason Isaacs...
Not even close as a fair trade :(

It depends on the extent. If it’s minor, then they might keep it but I think this is supposed to be the Federation on its last legs and I don’t think that will stick.
