Current theory is the incident is classified with the Spore Drive.

The spore drive ends up being researched by top men.

Not quite as good as last week but still pretty good.
My main issue was why did the medical team leave Stamets propped up in the chamber if they thought he wad dead. Shouldn't he have been taken to the morgue.
We don"t really know the timeline on this. Saru and the medtechs might have run off to get a stretcher, leaving Tilly alone with the body, running directly into the scene we observed. In fact... I cannot think of any other explanation than this rather straightforward one, so let's say that is what happened.

I guess Tyler/Voq will now become brig-buddies with L'Rell. :D And will there ever be a security officer on duty in the brig? Sometimes I think Discovery is operating with just a skeleton crew!
I wouldn't put them anywhere near each other! If they end up in the same cell, I will cry foul.

The best/smartest thing to do would be carbonite freeze for the both of them. That would save at least 3 redshirts lives.

We see the Admiral's flag ship in the Episode 12 preview, it looks like a literal space palace.
Ohhh...

A flying space palace?

Whoops I accidentally said admiral, not Emperor, lmao. But yes it looks like a palace.

It's a very convincing argument! I was also musing (must stop thinking about Star Trek and be productive! - story of my life ) that whilst "our" Lorca may be from the MU that he may not be on the side of the Empire. Wasn't it said that in the Mirror Universe Lorca tried to kill Burnham? Could it be that he tried to start a revolution and thus in other words, he's a good guy, however, as he's from the MU he's still got some deeply ingrained beliefs/values and thus still does questionable things (like we've seen throughout the series). This would be interesting avenue I think.

I also like the idea, as mentioned by someone else that he's from the MU and that's why he needs "our" Burnham - she's a way to get to the Emperor. As was said, other than it being a rather short series if she didn't end up on Discovery, Lorca did seem really keen to get her on his ship when no doubt there are other Starfleet officers with her skills. Indeed, even after she declines he still wants to persuade her.
:) I was thinking about a MU Lorca-lution too! Wonder if there are any allies of his on the Shenzhou.

Maybe he started out as a standard power-hungry MU captain, but his time in the Prime Universe has brought out some Starfleet-like tolerance and respect - perhaps just enough to make him a terrifyingly effective and beloved unifier.

It's possible that Lorca becomes Emperor, and his experience on the Discovery leads to him allowing non-humans to serve in the Terran Empire. He respects that other species have abilities that humans don't, like the tardigrade's armor and claws, so why not weaponize Vulcans? Vulcans are pragmatic and may prioritize their own survival over the liberation of their illogical allies.
--> Mirror Spock makes sense as an officer in the future.
(Or there already are some pragmatic Vulcans in the Terran Empire and we just haven't seen them.)

Another thought - Emperor Georgiou knows that MU Burnham should be dead. She probably gave her the orders to destroy the rebel bases as a test, then preemptively headed over to Harlak just in case Burnham was some kind of impostor/Lorca stooge and butts required kicking.
It would be very ironic if Lorca and Georgiou are both using Prime Burnham.

The next episode is titled "Vaulting Ambition"...

*conspiracy theorist voice* MU Lorca is like, vaulting over Burnham to get to Georgiou, and his ambition is to become Emperor. So deep, lol.

For real though, next one's gotta be about Burnham/Georgiou drama with a healthy serving of Lorca shadiness, Tyler/Voq, or MU Voq. Previews point to Lorca and pals.

Another question: Tyler said his mission was to infiltrate the Discovery to learn their secrets and stuff; if this is the case, then was L'Rell's claim to Cornwell that she wanted to defect just a ruse to get onto the ship, or was it legit. I'm pretty sure she really did want to get t.f. away from Kol, one way or the other.
Seems like she wanted to defect from Kol, reunite with her sweetheart, then topple Kol's empire together. Classic Klingon love story.

Well that throws my idea out the window. We probably won't actually see the Defiant then. They already have the stolen datatapes.

Jason Isaacs designed the accent to be very mildly southern, because he thought it would give him more of the "military" bearing he needed for the role.

And I think he does a good job of it. His accent is actually quite like mine (Virginian, southeast part of the state). And believe it or not, our accents change depending on who's in the room. If I'm in a formal meeting, my accent is very less so (could almost pass as a northern Virginian!!!). If I'm out with the boys drinking, very tired, or just having fun, it's quite noticeable.

But on a "real world" notice - most all of the command activities I have interfaced with (Navy), they all were from the midwest and had no southern accent at all. I work with the military every day and people all over the world and very few of them have a defined "southern drawl". Interesting that they would make that decision.
