Unless, of course, he purposely sabotaged Stamets' last jump in order to strand the ship in an alternate universe in order to get out of being reassigned off his ship (as would certainly happen when he went to talk to Admiral Terrel "in person").

The man has a problem.
I was wondering why he was so compliantly going to Starbase 46. He didn't make sense. And he was very accepting of the idea of one last jump. Then again I had missed his override on the last jump. I think he did it on purpose.

Yeah, if it was deliberate I would have to think it's just "strand us in some random alternate universe where I can maintain command" not actually go to his particular home universe on the first shot. I mean, we know that he's been studying Stamet's data, but I doubt he would know enough to know just the right moment to interfere in order to get to the proper alternate universe on the first shot.

I imagine it's more a "Oops, we went to an alternate universe somehow. Well, guess we have to spend however long looking for a way back to our universe. Culber, wake up Stamets and tell him to get back to work. Airiam, take the conn. Cornwell, I'm ordering you under quarantine. I'll be in my ready room."

Best episode yet obviously. I gave it a 9. It was neat seeing the universal translator working. There was some drama and teased the idea of exploring the unknown in the future. The sex scene with the klingon was interesting :)

I think it would have been more interesting if they left Admiral Cornwell on the Discovery, even though it would have required the actress to be in nearly every episode in the second half of the season. I mean, they were headed back to a starbase anyway - there was no reason to send her out separately on a shuttle with minimal firepower.

Do you mean Korea? Isn't he the older brother?

We don't know the exact relationship between Kor and Kol, other than I've assumed that Kol was the head of his house (the House of Kor, inexplicably), and was probably the eldest brother. Since DS9 established that Kor's father was Rynar (unless, I guess, we can attest to a Worf-Martok-type adoption scenario late in life), this makes them at a minimum brothers or maybe cousins or something, with Kor being named after an earlier Kor of House Kor from long ago.

Some of the shots of Tyler being tortured shows a Klingon instead of a him

At some point, fans need to drop the whole "Lorca is a villain / mirror universe guy / Section 31 agent / evil a-hole" rhetoric. The last few episodes (really since Cornwell showed up) he's been fighting back to who he really is.

Guy's just fighting personal demons. And he's not a virtuous bore like some of the other Captains have been...so this seems to throw everyone for a loop.

Best character the franchise has seen in a long long time.

Arggh. I thought she was still on Discovery. I just now remembered the rescue shuttle. That was clearly a way of getting rid of the actress for the second half, because it makes little sense for them to pick her up in a slow warp vessel and not just have the Discovery spore drive her the quick way around.

Yeah? What about the override he did on that last jump?

As for Tyler's nightmares, particularly the latter ones: one more reason why they chose not to go "over the air" with this series...

Truth be told, it's a disturbing moment. And should be disturbing. But if you think the like - as Tyler described it beforehand - hasn't happened in reality over the last couple of decades in particular (minus the Trek tech and non-human intelligences), I strongly suspect that you're wrong.

Terrific episode....10...

Damn it I really wanted Tyler to be a good guy. I thought all the previous he is a Klingon theories were daft....but ...that one screen shot....yeah...he's Voq

I'm a little let down that L'Rell's nipples were not confirmed to be claws or hooks.

First born is not manifest destiny, besides, was it ever said that Kol lead the house of Kor?

We haven't seen it, but at a "coronation" it's conceivable that the new leader takes on a more distinguished name in line with house leadership, like the Pope does.
