So? Retcons are damned common. They happen all the time, TMP was a Retcon. Heck that ENT story ark was a retcon

Klingons always looked like this. Done.
Some of the fans you are looking to satisfy by saying its "Prime" simply won't buy that explanation any more than they did the change in Klingons in TMP.
I guess DS9 was not prime. They redesigned trill
Guys, they refit the Enterprise so hard in TMP that it warped spacetime and changed the Trill in DS9. Obvs.
Heck that ENT story ark was a retcon
It also changed the universe to a cartoon for awhile too. That's how the universe appears when it subjected to such a severe paradox as that. And since changes ripple forwards and backwards in time, perhaps the Trill changing was a pre-destination paradox that actually caused the refit in TMP.

Not only that - in TNG's "The Host" it was stated Trill couldn't use the Transporter without dying. That was retconned as Dax had been serving in some form since the 23rd century and had zero issues with Transporters,
Didn't one of the producers say or at least imply that there were multiple types of Klingon and these were just one kind? The Klingon augment storyline was no worse than the explanation for Klingon differences that had already been around for many years in Trek Lit and other printed sources since the '80s. For fandom of the time before the current definition of "cannnnnnnon," that would have been considered the official word.

But most of those showed up once or twice. Funnily enough, an exception to this are the Romulans who in Star Treks V & VI had smooth foreheads just like they had in TOS and could pass for Vulcan, but ever since their reappearance at the end of TNG season one, had ridged foreheads of their own.Yep, there is a huge list of races that got a redesign and not a word has ever been said.

After hearing all the chatter from STLV, I think a Captain Pike led Enterprise is going to be making an appearance. I doubt we'd get to see Bruce Greenwood, but I think it would be awesome if we did.
