Ash vs Evil Dead (new tv series)

There was dialogue about Ash believing that the Delta could be fixed up, which seems pretty dubious to me-- but this is Ash vs. Evil Dead, so anything is possible. I wonder how long Chet will survive. I thought Lee Majors would be on for the whole season, and that didn't quite work out. :( It looks like the girl who was trapped in the car will be on next week, so maybe she'll be on the team, too.

I bought AVED season 1 in blu-ray format earlier this month (I don't have cable). What a fantastic series! A great continuation of the movies. I completely enjoyed everything in every episode summed up in one word ... Groovy.

Groovy indeed. I'll get that with my next Amazonian batch o' stuff. Does it have anything in the way of extras?

The second season is amazing, too. Though there is one... scene... in particular that's a little less than "groovy." But the jokes that come about because of it in the remainder of the episode are pure gold.

I'm still wondering where to buy it. No stores here have the Bluray and Amazon are charging £33 for it new ($40). iTunes has the HD for £20. (Just under $25).

Either one is a bit much for only 10 episodes of anything.

Yeesh, these channel specific shows are getting ridiculously expensive when they get here. Lucifer is just as bad for price for so few episodes. That's some insane VAT.

I feel that this season has been treading water a bit. I think the road trip nature of the first season helped to keep the show moving along as well. Sounds like others have been enjoying it more than I have but I find it lacking compared to last season.

It's amazing the Delta and that Pacer could survive the Michigan weather for so long. :)

^ I agree about the first season being better but the current has had some good moments.

My thought during the entire episode was "Ouch." Everyone's getting banged up.

Enter Baal.

Poor Pablo. He always seems to get the worst of it.

The "itchy" line was

I don't know if the first season was better or if we've just gotten used to it. I think they've maintained the quality and the outlandishness without trying to one-up themselves, which can be the kiss of death (well, except for that scene in the morgue, which I don't even want to think about :rommie: ).

Poor Pablo indeed. What the heck is happening to him? Is the Necronomicon trying to be reborn into this world through its connection to him? Can he survive a supernatural c-section? :wtf:

I wonder if Ash's ex and her daughter will become regular characters. I like them both, especially the kid who was terrified out of her mind, but still smart enough to know who the good guys are. Baal is pretty freaky and that actor playing him is really good. And Ruby is mortal?

I thought the funniest moment was when Ash took his ex by the hand to lead her out of the cell and she went face first into the bars and out like a light. Random moment of slapstick. :rommie:

I certainly did not expect Linda (Lynda?) to be the subject of pratfall comedy, which no doubt added to the humor!

But I fear her likability will make her a prime target for a tragic death. I certainly hope this will NOT be the case, but given past events, well...

I liked Ash catching the keys with his face. Stupid and juvenile but made me laugh.

Ash deserves some happiness.

Ash deserves some happiness.
That's the crux of the matter. Yes, he deserves happiness, but odds are, he'll never attain it. If he did, we'd lose a cornerstone of his basic character and a basic premise of the property would crumble. He's a blue collar Sisyphus forever doomed trying to roll the boulder up the hill only to have it crush him time and time again. If he ever found that happiness, it would only last because he's finally vanquished evil and that would pretty much conclude his "story".

Sorry, that got a bit more serious than I intended for this morbidly goofball material, but I hope you know what I mean.
