^^ They should have served that to the candidates at the debate. :rommie:

Yeah, Ash vs. Evil Dead is back. The good life in Jacksonville could not last for long. Looks like Ruby's ungrateful offspring are going to be tougher to kill than the average slavering supernatural creature from beyond.

Really, why wasn't he arrested after the events of the movie? I do not think "I killed my girlfriend because she was possessed by a daemon" is a great defense.

I loved the conversation between his father and him. Particularly in regards to his hand.

What makes you think he wasn't? It's been thirty years since those events happened, there's plenty of time for him to have done some, well, time. Manslaughter only has a max sentence of about 12 years, and second degree murder is something like 30. First degree (depending on location) can be life with parole in 25 years. So all three are viable given the time frame. That's assuming he was found guilty, too. For all we know, the crime scene was never even discovered. There certainly was no evidence of that when we saw it again in the first season.

The cabin would never let itself be discovered by cops or investigators. Ash babbled about what happened, but nothing could ever be proved. As far as the townsfolk are concerned, he's a crazy nut who killed his friends, but nothing could ever be proved in the eyes of the law.

Or something.

I want to watch it again (which is easy given the runtime) but my first impression is that it was solid but not quite premium entry as season openers often are. Still some good stuff in both the humor and the horror. The children are pretty cool but their aesthetic is rather atypical for The Evil Dead. Lee Majors is quite a hoot as Ash's old man and humbled Ruby seems a sensible way to bringing her into the group dynamic.

I was googling to see if there was an Elk Grove, MI and was going to plan an impromptu road trip if it existed. Turns out it was fictional but I found this entry for a house in Elk Grove, IL at ... 666 Michigan Lane. I figured it was going to be a joke but it seems legit lol. https://www.redfin.com/IL/Elk-Grove-Village/666-Michigan-Ln-60007/home/13709001

In Evil Dead: Regeneration, he was sent to a mental institute not far from the cabin. They might have kept some of that in the series.

Anyone here think we'd ever see Bruce Campbell get "teabagged"?

(I think that's the strangest sentence I've ever typed.)

It's amazing how horrific the human body can be.

As a Michigander I was pleased to hear Kelly call the Detroit Faygo a "pop". It's a shame they don't actually film here though.
