Games you wish were still continued...

Suikoden

Had a great cast of reoccuring characters and a interesting plot that was building to a climax.

And then it just stopped.

Homeworld - Playing the remasters just got my juices flowing for the series again. would love to go back.

Not *quite* the same type of game and it's technically a prequel, but close enough!

I was going to say with no movement in several years that it looked very much dead, but today when I was on Steam something called Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak appeared. So it looks like they've renamed it and it is very much alive. So alive that it is out in a months time.

Definitely adding it to my watch and see list.

Master of Orion

Although it's not out yet and it's not actually a MOO game, Paradox is working on Stellaris and it looks absolutely amazing. They're taking the kind of in-depth grand strategy approach they use in their other games (Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis, etc.) and applying it to a sci-fi space empire setting.

Reportedly, it will be detailed enough that you can, for instance, "uplift" pre-warp species and annex them into your empire--but they can potentially destroy themselves in the process. Another example: once your culture unlocks genetic modification, your people may begin modifying themselves to the point that you develop subspecies which may view themselves as superior and try to overthrow you/split off into their own empire.

The stuff that's been demonstrated so far looks extremely impressive and interesting, and like most Paradox games, warfare isn't the driving focus, but rather managing the politics, culture, and economy of your empire. (Of course, warfare is still a prominent feature.)

Yep, played it back in the day too. Still got the console and disk somewhere so I'll probably have to try it again.

StarTropics 1&2 were made for the NES and for some reason never continued. It's awesome, I loved it more than Zelda.

Command & Conquer. 4's reputation sucked so bad I've never even played it, and I've been a fan ever since Red Alert. Needless to say, it killed the franchise, and here I am eight years after the last half-decent game was released still waiting for a sequel/reboot/anything.

Eternal Darkness. Even the SO misses it and he never played it but he watched every second and was really into it. It's one of those games both of us still pine over (probably the only one).

The other one would be Morrowind, yes that could be considered a cheating answer since TES continued on and has produced some great games, but I feel differently. They have never come close to what it was or even revisited the area and lore there.

As much as I love both Oblivion and Skyrim they feel empty in comparison. Matter of fact I compulsively mod Skyrim in a vain attempt to give it the depth Morrowind had.

Speaking of Unreal, was there ever a native OS X version released of any game in that series? I think the original had an unofficial 'hack' of it, but I'm not aware of a real release.

I want to see more of Watch Dogs.

I just wish they had continued the story and let us know more about who the people behind Blume really were, and that the endgame was.

I'd love to see Burnout return, especially with the minigames that were in the original version. Loved bowling with ragdoll drivers.

I'd also like to see Star Trek Armada return in some form.
