Axanar dropped a plot spoiler about a month ago

Whether it annoys me or not is irrelevant. The post was made more as a predictor than anything else. Axanar has been very vocal about its accomplishments, and I thought this would be an amusing way --for both its supporters and those who may not be as passionate about it-- to share the news that they won the Geekie Award. Jeez.

EDIT: This is the kind of thing I'm talking about when I say that Axanar fans are too sensitive to anything other than outright praise for the project.

Ah I see. Anyone taking exception to your virtually constant pot shots, whether over or passive aggressive, is simply 'too sensitive'. Got it.

If you are so often running into people you feel are 'too sensitive' then perhaps the problem lies with you.

Or, Axanar fans might consider that it is perfectly acceptable and well within reason for one to not like or to simply have critical commentary on the film and that either or both in no way diminish the enjoyment of the production to anyone else and thus there's no need to grossly mischaracterize same as "attacks," which seems to be the reflex action every time it happens.

Of course it's acceptable to criticize. ALL the fan productions have their issues. You are just so very negative about a great many things...persistent negativity from people is just a pet peeve of mine.

Again...if so many people feel that your posts are attacks then maybe a look in the mirror is in order.

I don't feel my comments have been negative at all. Critical, yes. But not negative. There is also definitely however a tendency by others to mischaracterize that critical view as negativity. That might be what you are perceiving.

"Bragging" does have a negative connotation though, so it's not as though the meme you made is neutral.

Not that it matters, it's hardly the worst thing someone could say about Axanar. The difference between excessive boasting and expressing pride can be razor-thin.

I'm happy for them that they won, but every post I see about awards or conventions or whatever, I can't help but feel like "Stop wasting time and get the production rolling faster."

Axanar criticism seems to attempt to match the hype of Axanar being one of the best fan films ever.

I see both sides, but I hope they are able to complete production.

The Geekie Award!

Tonight was the Geekie Awards! In it’s 3rd year the Geekie Awards have grown to be an important event, and I have to say that the competition for Best Short Film was AMAZING. I didn’t think we had a chance, but we won!
After we won we were being interviewed and the lady interviewing us said that we were the favorites. I asked her why she said that and she said that everyone on the Red Carpet was talking about us.
This is certainly a wonderful award and maybe the biggest we have won so far. And it is important to remember that first and foremost, Prelude to Axanar was so good because of the money donated by all the donors. So THANK YOU.
Special mention to the amazing Horace Austin, our Film Festival Director and Associate producer who got us in to the event, got us nominated and got us great seats!
The stage had Bill & Ted, The Doctor and Marty McFly!

Outside of the comments section, I'm not seeing the hostility. Peters and Burnett should probably stop any and all direct fan interaction outside of their official social media channels, though. Neither take criticism very well, and by participating in the mudslinging (deserved or not) they come off as petty and amateurish -- just about the opposite of their stated goals.

I myself am getting tired of the slagging of the Abrams movies by the film's producer-he should know (and be) better than that.

I don't care about the damn cat, and I don't care if Alec is fighting the cold or the Klingon Measles. (A guest appearence on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert would be acceptable ).
