Axanar dropped a plot spoiler about a month ago

Its just I was skimming the thread and there were all these nudges for constructive criticism. So I thought some straight forward "put the boot in" was needed - I'll pop back when some new stuff appears.

Outside of the comments section, I'm not seeing the hostility. Peters and Burnett should probably stop any and all direct fan interaction outside of their official social media channels, though. Neither take criticism very well, and by participating in the mudslinging (deserved or not) they come off as petty and amateurish -- just about the opposite of their stated goals.

I myself am getting tired of the slagging of the Abrams movies by the film's producer-he should know (and be) better than that.

The potshots at JJTrek are interesting....

To me "Axanar" actually seems more reminiscent of the Abrams movies than TOS, at least in terms of visuals. I'm sure the producer wouldn't want to hear that.

Kor
It's impossible to deny, they borrowed the ships and remade scenes.

Nope, still chewing on leftovers.

As for constructive criticism, I have little to add other than I'm curious to see more of the characters in the actual situations, rather than the docu-drama that Prelude was. That will be more interesting to me.

Do you guys think Axanar can make the full film? They had already collected 638k (minus fees) and the Indiegogo campaign is at 541k. Thing is, the current Indiegogo campaign is set to an on going mode so you can still give to the project, that said, it does not look like they got that much more since I saw it last month. Just seems like people have almost stopped giving to the project.

They announced that have enough to film the first half (roughly an hour's worth I think ) but needed about $660k more to do the second half, I wonder if they set their goals to high.

I would expect if they have anything remaining to raise that they would go after it in the new year, probably when they have some more footage available to help advertise the project.

The ongoing Indigogo campaign has raised about 10% more since the campaign officially ended. Surely that helps a lot, but as Tom said, this will quite naturally dry up within time.

They already said a couple of times that they will film the first half (even if they did not make quite the sum they said this would cost). I suspect they will do another fundraiser when they have done that and have something to show, so people can decide if they want to see the rest of the story.

That was a great post dude. Sums up really well how I feel about Trek and fans (well any long term media and fans honestly). The things that unite us under this awesomely silly franchise are stronger than the things that divide us.

I'm sure Axanar will do just fine.
This. It takes time to put something together of that scope. Things are in a bit of a dry spell right now and I have no doubt that interest will get popping again when they start putting out a new generation of production stills and/or footage. No worries.

Very perceptive posts from September. You guys have been on to Alec for a long time. Oh you trolls, you. You're so cute when you're right.

I found out in June what was going on from a few people on the inside, but kinda kept quite till around August in hopes that things would eventually work themselves out. Guess I was wrong. It's a shame, thinking on what could have been.

What was going on in which regard?
The fact that Alec spent most of the Kickstarter money already, and they were going to put out another campaign to ask for over a million dollars . Also talk about the likelihood that there would be lawsuit at some point. Both things have happened . At that point my hope for an incredible Axanar film went down the tubes.
