Star Trek Continues, Episode 5....

^^ They probably already have a title for the episode, but they seem to like releasing information bit by bit.

One thing you can say about fan productions--it's easier for them to keep their stardates in consistent chronological order.

The modern television series and films never had a problem with this. It's only really an issue with TOS, and even then if you watch the series in stardate order, it still works out quite nicely. Chekov ends up on the Enterprise well before "Space Seed" and "All Our Yesterdays" becomes the series finale. Works for me!

But then you don't end on, "If only..."

Personally, I don't care. "Turnabout Intruder" was a barely passable episode, but certainly not what I'd call good.

:)

Ah, if only...

"Where's that rewrite?"

I watched Fairest of Them All and really liked it.

I've only watched 2 episodes of TOS and one of them is mirror mirror.

It was a good idea to show what happened after.

what was the other, Trouble With Tribbles? :P

I've only seen a handful of the original series episodes.

Nope, the other one was Doomsday Machine i believe.

But i did watch the ds9 episode about that episode :D

I got 2 fan collective's so there is some TOS episodes on them.

I should watch some more episodes, maybe tonight.

In news that will likely bring tears of joy to Warped9's eyes and will summarily generate no less than ten paragraphs from him about it, the following was posted to STC's Facebook page moments ago:

Captain Kirk invites you to be among the first to see episode V... our first episode off the ship! Yes off the ship! We will premiere Episode V on Friday, 9/25 at 6PM MDT at Salt Lake Comic Con!!
Captain Kirk deep in thought thinking about Episode V. Caption this photo.

I think what gets me the most about the series is that sometimes I'll be watching Vic do his thing, and I'll forget it's Vic. Instead, it's James Kirk, and I'm watching an episode from the 1960s that happened to be lost until now. It doesn't last for long, but there are times when I completely forget I'm watching a fan film. That, IMO, is how you do it.

I agree with this.

^ Exactly.

Vic is one of those guys who just has it. He stood out on the screen in Renegades for his brief screen time there for that reason.

I would add that Todd Haberkorn as Spock: he's very different from Nimoy's version, but he's still believable as Spock, which having seen more than a few attempts at it now is a feat I don't pass off lightly.

Continues has the best scripts. The stories usually have a moral or social-justice theme, which I guess looks quaint or preachy by modern cynical standards, but it comes closest to capturing the zeitgeist of TOS. I like the fact that each episode tries to go somewhere that TOS probably should have gone, but didn't, filling in more detail on the tapestry, as it were. Even when it falls a little flat (and I thought the last episode was a little flat) I respect what they're trying to do.
