Star Trek Continues, Episode 5....

It doesn't last for long, but there are times when I completely forget I'm watching a fan film. That, IMO, is how you do it.

^ Exactly.

Vic is one of those guys who just has it. He stood out on the screen in Renegades for his brief screen time there for that reason.

I would add that Todd Haberkorn as Spock: he's very different from Nimoy's version, but he's still believable as Spock, which having seen more than a few attempts at it now is a feat I don't pass off lightly.

Phase II/NV's Brandon Stacy, looks more like Nimoy's Spock, but yet, Todd Haberkorn, is the best at the roll in any fan pics I have seen... and Chris Doohan as Scotty....

Star Trek Continues, just, to me, captures the Spirit of Star Trek, and TOS that none of the other fan films have been able to replicate.

STC's FB page announced that Greg Dykstra from Pixar will be a guest actor in Ep 5. As an artist / sculptor, it would be cool if he brought some of his artistic talent to props or new creature designs in STC.

that would be very cool, the production should use its assets best skills.

I would guess, this the Pixar connection, ive seen talked about before.

Three weeks to go and no word of a title or glimpse of an episode poster yet.

Hmm, feels just like the '70s waiting anxiously for the next episode. :)

It's likely that the poster will not be released until the episode since it contains spoilers

Does the title also contain spoilers? I'm asking because it does seem odd that we don't even know the title this close to release.

Guess they're not following original Trek with multi-purpose and often vague Shakespearean quotes...

Yes it does.

You won't see the teaser shown at the cons because it also contains spoilers. What was shown was the actual teaser for the episode; not a preview.

Not that it matters three weeks before the premiere, but you're saying that the teaser doesn't show any clips from the principal photography?

I think by "teaser," he actually means the cold open of the episode, which would be what was filmed during principal photography.

If that's the case, I wouldn't mind being spoiled along with the lucky people who were able to attend the cons.

Yes, that is correct. What was shown at the con is the first few minutes of the forth-coming episode.

Curiouser and curiouser; I just hope the episode lives up to the secrecy. I haven't seen a bad episode yet, but this one has a lot to live up to.

That's the thing with STC so far. While there are moments that are so-so I'd have to say they're 4 for 4 so far. While "The White Iris" wasn't exactly my cup of tea I can't say it was poor or bad, just different.

In teleplay parlance, the "teaser" is the brief scene or scenes prior to the opening credits. What the Roddenberry Mission Log Podcast guys have been calling a "prologue".

I got home today to find an email wiating for me with a link to a teaser for Ep. 5. No title revealed and it's not easy to get a real sense of what this story will be. I will say that while I'm not sure what I could have expected this wasn't on my radar.

That isn't a bad thing because I'm definitely curious to see how this unfolds. What I see plays like an episode's opening teaser that ends with a genuine WTF moment.

One more week to go.

Apparently the crew member who played the female security guard in Lolani is back for this one, she was actually pretty good. well, the actress has actually been in all their épisodes, but only as an extra in the others. But she should play the same redshirt again. I'd much rather see her than Kipleigh Brown.

A big selling point for this episode is it's supposed to be their first off-ship and planetary bound story. Based on what little I've seen in the teaser it could play out any number of ways, some of which I have inklings of in terms of possibilities.

There is one road I hope they don't go down, but I can't say what that is since it could itself be spoilerish.
