I don't know how it fits into the continuity of the comic above, but back in the 80s, Walt Simonson did a story in which Thor was transformed into a frog.
What do you call a 6' 6" bullfrog with the power of the god of thunder?
Sir!

I'd rather see them get that monkey Fitz wanted.
What makes a frog worthy?
You don't think Simmons will become the team's second super powered gifted?![]()
That'll do it.
Now, is that from the comics or are you just bonkers?

Honestly, there's so many comic book characters out there that they could use. They should let the human agents stay human and use one of them.
I think the "lizard," assuming you mean the red T. Rex, is Jack Kirby's Devil Dinosaur. According to Wikipedia, the cat is Hairball, the pet of Speedball of the New Warriors.
Oh, I just got that.
We were talking about a hammer wielding toad though.
But yeah, Kermit could pick up Thor's hammer.
Statler: "You mean that frog is worthy to wield Thor's hammer?"
Waldorf: "Sure! He's been carrying a load of dead weight for years!"
Both: "Haw-haw-haw-haw-haw!"
...
Eh, I'd rather Fitz get it by other means and I hope Simmons is back to normal by the thirdish episode.

I dunno, Coulson definitely has a whimsical/geeky side I don't much see in Kermit... his personality and especially enthusiasm for weirdness really reminds me more of Gonzo. 'Course, even in his first appearance he's had more weighty responsibilities than Gonzo ever did, but at heart... ?
Gonzo is more like Fitz or Simmons, in a way -- the passionate specialist who needs a more levelheaded leader to keep his enthusiasms from running out of hand or blinding him to the bigger picture.
I dunno... Kermit would never have lasted as the Muppets' leader if he couldn't appreciate weirdness. Just because he has the discipline to bring it under control doesn't mean he doesn't want it as part of his life. And given that he devoted so much of his career to creating programs built around showcasing celebrity guests, I'd say there's plenty of geeky fanboy in his makeup. Just look at how wildly enthusiastic he is every time he mentions their very special guest star. Yayyyyyyyy!!!

(Put another way, Gonzo is a geek, but in the original sense of a carnival performer dedicated to strange and unnerving performances, rather than the modern sense of a passionate and knowledgeable fan of something.)
