Your latest purchases, cont.

Enough of a collection that I wanted to be useful for why I need it, but not enough to complete the entire collection, itself. I only spent the money today after I read the status of one of the out-of-stock items and found out that their particular wording of that item meant that they're never expecting any more shipments of it. I'm worried now that the rest of what I'd like will be gone before I have the chance to come up with the cash for it. As it is, I decided to drop a couple of the pieces from my cart so I have a little more spending money until I can sell my van (was planning to sell it, anyway).

Oh, this also has something to do with my most recent post in the Happy thread.

Sorry to be so vague on both posts.

When Worlds Collide and The Sky Calls (Soviet, 1950's) on DVD.
When Worlds Collide is one of my favorite of the 1950s sci-fi movies. I don't know if you like this sort of thing, but you can find the original novel from 1933 (or 1932, I forget which) published together with it's sequel, After Worlds Collide (1933/1934) from Bison Frontiers. I'm still disapointed that the sequel was never made into a movie. It was going to be at one time, but nothing came of it.

My latest purchase: groceries and pescriptions, and a new computer board for my refrigerator. Cost $198.

I listened to both audiobook versions back in 2017. I am not sure if I have ever seen the movie, if I did it was probably 40 odd years ago.

Monopoly for Millennials. Walmart is taking orders for these again (with free shipping), so no need to get price gouged on eBay or Amazon third party sellers.

The remaining available TWOK rank pins I didn't have.

Now I'm on a quest for the Commodore pin.

Yet more baseball tickets, this time for Boston.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get out there for a Yankees/Red Sox series :sigh: but I like Fenway Park very much - and I freaking LOVE Boston - so I'll take what I can get!

My housemate would be exceptionally jealous right now. He's wanted to go to Boston for both a Red Sox game and a Patriots game.

I'm certainly no football fan but I wanted to go visit Gillette Stadium just so I could take some pictures (I have a weakness for sports stadiums of all kinds, even those whose sport I'm not into). Unfortunately the train only goes out there on game days. :sigh:

And let me just say, as a Yankee fan, I found Red Sox fans to be some of the nicest I've ever met. I was there for a Yankees/Red Sox series a few years ago and the locals were very nice to me, even though I was in full Yankee gear the whole time. Not ONCE was I ever harassed or threatened. Yankees/Red Sox is one of the greatest rivalries in all sports but there is still respect there.

(Unlike, for example, Giants/Dodgers. which oftentimes gets fucking dangerous. :( )
