Today the postman bought me two Rock Candy figures (Brienne of Tarth and Arya Stark) and 4 vinyl pops (Secret Squirrel, Touché Turtle, Sam I Am, Felix the Cat). My son didn’t know who Touché Turtle was.
Is that bad? Then I certainly won't admit that I don't know the turtle OR the squirrel. I had never heard of the Rock Candy line before. (It actually took me more Google searches than I originally expected to confirm that they are, in fact, not edible... ) They look quite nice. If I ever find myself with some extra money lying around, I might look into some of those GoT figures.
I love the Hanna Barbera cartoons from the 60s Touché Turtle (I still have to buy Dum Dum) Secret Squirrel. I have bought his sidekick Morocco Mole but MM hasn’t arrived yet. I also have Atom Ant on the way, and Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
Bought a new air compressor for the garage. My last one was 17 years old and the motor and the compressor head were on their last legs. Went with one (this time) that is more robust - should last me the rest of my days. Found out the hard way that more robust = much more $$ Q2
I had that thought when I received them. I am putting them at opposite ends of my collection so isn’t as obvious.
A slice of lemon cake for breakfast. ETA: and about a third of it broke off and fell on the floor. Kor
Even more pops. I have been able to order quite a few because a) I cashed in my coin tin and it had almost $350 in it and 2) I asked people to give me money for my birthday. New today are Huckleberry Hound and Snagglepuss (bought out of the money my best friend gave me), Atom Ant, Wally Gator and Dum Dum (who is next to Touché Turtle whose sidekick he is).
OMG love the Rocky and Bullwinkle ones, @Miss Chicken. They're adorable. Got some groceries today and an ICEE.
^^^ I still have to buy Boris and Natasha, and the Supreme Leader to go beside Rocky and Bullwinkle. I would also like Mr Peabody and Sherman but Mr Peabody is a bit expensive and it is probably no use getting Sherman without him.
Today I received my limited edition of the Mr Squiggle coins from the Australian Mint. I don’t normally collect coins by it is Mr Squiggle who entertained Australian children for 41 years though the show ended about 20 years ago. Also 5 more Australian Text Classics. I now have 17 of them and I have only read three of them. However as they only cost $50 dollars for 5 ($US35) with free postage they are very cheap for Australian books. I plan to start one of them on Monday.
Lego Movie playset for the little one. He busted his knees and forehead on the pavement outside and needed his spirits lifting. Mission accomplished.
A scallop pie for $8.99. A couple of years ago these pies had 8 scallops per pie now they are down to 6 scallops per pie.
That is pretty average for a scallop pie. Scallop pies are a Tasmanian speciality and most bakeries have their own version usually either curried or with a mornay sauce. Some tourists try scallops pies in every town that they come to that sells them trying to decide just who has the best one. I like them all.
