You know you're a TOS fan if...

When we speak of the later shows on here we always refer to them as TNG, DS9 and VOY respectively but we do tend to call the original series TOS! Should we just refer to it as Star Trek? :vulcan: Or keep it as TOS? :rommie:

I like the term "Classic Star Trek" which appeared on many of the action figures in the 90s.

JB, you raise a good point. I think I sometimes type TOS here because I almost always type TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and DISC, rather than type out the names of those shows. So using an abbreviation for STAR TREK (:)) seems appropriate.

Good call; I sometimes use that term in speech as well.

In any event, I rarely worry that I'm insulting my very favorite television show of all time and forever by how I refer to it. :techman:

if generic spray bottles give you the creeps

TFS = The First Series
TSLAS = The Second Live Action Series
TOWSS = The One With the Space Station
V'GER = Voyager

...when you spend too much time coming up with initialisms for the many series of the Star Trek franchise.

You sample several different types of alcohol beverages at all your important meetings. What? No Saurian Brandy!

If you scream, "Matt Decker!" when the President authorizes Dr. Hasslein to interrogate Zira.
If you hope Balok's tranya is apricot juice and not his own recycled urine.
If you wish landing parties would beam down with more communicators.

You know you're a TOS fan if...you wonder how Ron Tracey got back to twentieth century earth and was a bit of a git to the inmates of a chain gang as Boss Godfrey in Cool Hand Luke and he had no eyes as well! :hugegrin:

You maintain supreme cool in the face of Immortal Frigging Jack the Ripper laughing maniacally about trying to kill you and your crew, extend your arm, and politely order, "Cut that thing off."
