You know you're a TOS fan if...

You know you're a TOS fan if...when watching the interviews from The Voyage Home and saw Shatner's wig bristling in the wind and thought it was real hair that or it didn't occur to you one little bit! :techman::lol:

...but The Shat still claims that he doesn't plant a wig on his shiny dome. ;) It makes me wonder what Picard would look like with a shaggy hairdo on his egghead.

It took me quite a while to accept a bald captain in charge of the Enterprise, but Patrick Stewart is such a great actor that after a few episodes I got used to the hairless hero.

Well I can't really comment on Lord's syrup but Shatner's was really good in the series but looked awful in the movies! It's clever how they look so real unless the Wigee is swimming underwater or chatting to British reporters in the wind! I wonder if anyone has ever tried to pull it off of his head? Would they be risking some Kirk-Fu?

As I've said, there were nine regulars altogether on TOS, and six of them wore a hairpiece. It's a part of show business!

But the Shatner was going for attractive leading man roles. Not the same as Stewart. Its easy to say now - embrace your baldness. But it was different in the 60s. I think even nowadays an action type leading man has got to have a good head of hair.
These days Jason Stratham, Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis seem to have no problem with shaved heads onscreen.

Chekov's second wig that we got to see in the second season after the Catspaw, Amok Time version was quite good I thought and was anyone aware that it was a piece at the time? Same as with McCoy, no one knew!

Six wigged cast members ?
Alright, spill, who were they
I always knew Shatner and Koenig wore hairpieces, but who are the other 4 ?

Shatner, Koenig, Kelley, Nichols, Barrett, and Whitney. That we know of. Hairpieces are part of show business.

Could it be, might we all have got our facts wrong? Could our Bill Shatner be sporting a full head of hair that is actually his own? :shifty: Was it sour grapes on the part of a couple of actresses that he spurned or fellow actors he'd upset? Are we in the wrong?
