Would you watch a Titan series with Riker?

Yeah I would watch it. It would probably be the only show that I would make an effort to watch. More development for Riker and Troi is nothing but a good thing.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind a series about Geordi La Forge set aboard the Challenger after he took command.

But, sincerely, Troi and Riker definitely weren't the best TNG characters. Troi was pretty boring, and Riker too sometimes. And they are both older now. So I'd rather watch new series with all new charatcers. And I doubt they could have high ratings with Riker, Troi and Titan.
And it would really be painfull to watch them without Picard, and Data being dead now...

Of course I would watch it! TNG was my favorite series and I always loved Riker and Troi. However, it would be interesting to see the two main characters in a Trek show married. Sure we've seen other marriages on Trek, but not with the two main characters. If there was a new Trek series I would like to see Wesley Crusher working in Engineering... even if it was a deleted scene in Nemesis it's still canon to me!!! Of course I do realize that I am definitely a minority in that opinion!

As a lot of people mentioned above it would be very difficult to make a new Titan series if it was based on the book. There are a lot of crazy aliens on board... they're so diverse that I have a hard time keeping track of what each character is supposed to look like. Personally, I wouldn't want to see Tuvok aboard the show 'cause his character was kinda boring to me. However, I wouldn't mind seeing Ogawa.

Although, I enjoy the Titan book series, especially Orion Hounds, I don't think that I'd watch a television series featuring Riker and Troi. It's a little too late. If they'd done something like this say ten years ago, maybe.

I've felt that instead of doing movies and VOY, TNG should've continued on television past the seventh season but with a new cast of characters (ala ER and the various Law and Orders) under the command of Riker.

I agree 100%! Think of that: all the ST you've had would have been TOS, TNG and DS9 - quite stellar, if you ask me. I like VOY and ENT, but LOVE the first three series!

Without question. The Titan books are superb and that would be the type of series that would have an established captain and get back to exploring strange new worlds, and new civilizations. Probably never happen though, but at least we have the novels.

As just about everyone else said - I'd watch a few episodes, but if it sucked I'd stop. Although, I might give it more of a chance than I gave Enterprise.

Unfortunately Riker and Troi were two of the most boring characters on TNG. They would have to have awesome stories for me to bother.

I think Riker is considered boring by many because his character was one that should have been in command of a starship after about year 2. As a result, he is kind of shackled by Picard.

Troi, yeah, she sucked.

To answer the OP. Yes. But to keep me watching it'd have to be modern tv, intelligent, bring something a little different to the table. I think TPTB would have the address the age thing, take it into account and write that into the premise. Riker is older, how doesn this effect him etc. And I'd like Troi to be in it. I'd like to see a mature marriage explored. Let the young 'uns have the alien-romance-of-the-week, if it has to be there at all.

i'd welcome a Riker series. when TNG was on Riker was often described as Kirk in training. you could explore them being married. as for romance thats what the secondary characters are for. as long as Troi and Tuvok were on the Titan i'd be devoted to watching.

Animated is the only way it could work. Too many aliens and too few humans the way it's described in the books.

For me, Riker was the least interesting character in the series. His appearance on the screen was guaranteed to provoke a yawn. So there would have to be a few other characters that were a lot more interesting. Now, Trek has been pretty good overall at having a few interesting characters in every ensemble, so there's a good chance I'd end up watching it.
