Would you watch a Titan series with Riker?

Let's say the new movie does well and a series of movies last for a few years, would you watch an older Riker command a starship, with adventures more akin to STNG than other shows? It would have easily been 7-10 years at that point. I'm sure I'll miss the 24th century.

If they had new writers and everything, I'd watch it in the hopes that it'd be good. I sure wouldn't see it coming, that's for sure.

I will watch any Trek series pilot... but if it's crap, I'll stop. I won't watch any series just because it's Trek!

The character is done. I'd like to see some fresh blood myself.

But, if it were well written I would watch it.

I'm a TNG glutton, so I'd definitely try watching. Whether I kept watching would depend on the quality, but I'd be hoping for the best!

I hate Riker in the Titan Novels. I would give it a shot though, a fair shot. The problem I see with this is using the characters in the books will be odd, too many new species and such a diverse crew it could loose alot of people. You have a doctor who is a lizard for christs sakes:techman: and a emer of the crew who lives in water thus has a fish bowl helmet on at all times when she is out of her specially made quaters. A non joined trill Homosexual Chief Tactical/ Security chief. Tuvok who becomes Chief Tactical Officer.

one character I would like would be Dakal and maybe Jazza.

I'd watch it because it's Trek.. though I haven't seen a whole lot of Enterprise, because I thought it sucked..

However, if it had TNG characters it wouldn't be as easy to dismiss..

If it sucked I'd probably go into a horrible depression.

I wouls asssume they would use the Titan novels characters thus you will only have Nurse Ogawa, Troi, Riker for TNG characters and Tuvok from Voyager.

I like Ogawa, Riker, and Tuvok..... :(

I would watch Shrek eat live toads if he did it in a Starfleet uniform. :)

I'm sure I'd watch an episode or two, but I doubt I'd watch it on a regular basis. These days I don't even watch shows that I know I like.

Let's not be too hasty. They don't have to be characters from the novels or tv show. Maybe there could be 1-2 familiar faces and some new characters. Also, as is the modern way, there could also be some serialized adventures.

Troi Inclusion = No

Troi Exclusion = Maybe

Crusher Inclusion = Definitely

Heh,funny, there's no way I'd watch it if Troi wasn't on the show, since I was never a big fan of Riker's to begin with. Though if Troi would be used merely as a trophy wife compliment, I wouldn't watch it either.

Frankly, although I'd love to see more TNG, I don't think I'd watch a Titan series.

As much as TNG seemed to be a show with an ensemble cast, the only significantly developed characters who were still on the show as of the end of the series were Picard, Data and Worf. Riker, Troi, Geordi and Dr. Crusher were remarkably undeveloped after seven seasons. So... I consider a Titan series starring Jonathan Frakes as Riker to be not unlike an Excelsior series starring George Takei as Sulu.

I'd watch it but I doubt it would get much of an audience. It's too same old same old for to many potential viewers.

Unfortunately Riker and Troi were two of the most boring characters on TNG. They would have to have awesome stories for me to bother.
