A quick google search discovered this. The season 3 finale thread had nearly 500 comments.

You can always look at the SNW subreddit and/or google search for yourself as I just did.My apologies if I misspoke but i'm pretty sure I meant recent discussion not something from awhile ago.
Ehh, I see some anime that have larger fan bases than Trek with comment sections the same size, and those folks are far more Reddit-centric.As big as Reddit is, I’d expect much more, in all honesty. There are 600 posts in the season three finale thread here.
I think it is one of those things where burnout is starting to set in. If you look at the main page here, each show after Discovery has less and less engagement.
There has not been one created for SFA, says coming soon. Though thank you for showing me the archive portion for discussion. You can always look at the SNW subreddit and/or google search for yourself as I just did.
I imagine some anime shows like Naruto or Dragon ball are bigger than the most popular wester shows.Ehh, I see some anime that have larger fan bases than Trek with comment sections the same size, and those folks are far more Reddit-centric.
Not really. People give them some weight but that's been the case since Cinema Sins like ten years ago. It's just not that big of a deal.Thats the point, there is no big deal, but people seem to act like the haters out there have some kind of magical control over large media productions.
The show's doing no harm to Trek's alleged goddamn "legacy."Right but willow only had one season and it failed. Would they still be able to get a write off if they air the second season and it fails? If they are allowed to air it then get a tax write off for both seasons than they would have to shelve the show. There might be time limits on how long they could do it. Interesting to think about.
I dont ever recall saying I didn't want 2 to air out of "spite". But if it doesnt air it would limit the damage it could cause to Trek. That is a the reason I don't want it to air. I believe its damaging Treks legacy. Just my opinion.
This is a legitimate topic. Its happened before. Im sure others like you want to see it. I totally understand. Im just on the other side. But I do believe it will air unless paramount really needs the extra cash that a write off would provide. I think it really depends on how the merger pans out.
I watched the entire series. The interest was there. I kept watching even after I felt it wasnt very good. So I gave it a chance. Many star trek fans never ever watched it and gave it a chance at all.
I might even change my mind and give the 2nd season a look if I have room on my TV schedule that year. Who knows it might be better.

But what has expanded its franchise since the first Kelvin movie? Really?
They clearly created the show with younger people in mind. They wanted to bring new fans in. The YA slang, the romance etc. All to try and hook new fans. It certainly did not do that. At least the Kelvin movies brought new we fans in. I didn't even like the kelvin but they did their job.
And god forbid having romances in Star Trek. Oh yeah, that’s a form of fun. And Trek doesn’t do fun. I forgot.
Romance, in my Star Trek?the romance etc.
