Why the hate for Disco?

Roddenberry.com has Gene's "vision" as follows:

Its enduring resonance is a testament to Gene Roddenberry’s vision for a future where diversity and tolerance are encouraged and in which inclusivity and equality are the norm. In the future, the Star Trek creator believed, the human potential to be “remarkable” would yield a better, fairer world — “a world with no hunger, poverty, prejudice, or greed”. Since it first aired over five decades ago, Star Trek has continued to offer a unique brand of science fiction that invites us to “think, question, and challenge the status quo” with the intention of creating “a brighter future”.

I see no evidence of Discovery, Picard, or Lower Decks violating this vision. I think haters latch on to how a story is presented, especially if it's an aggressive, violent one, and say it violates all of this.

No.

Gene's vision isn't about how to write a script. It's about depicting humanity where inclusivity is the norm. I'd argue Discovery is the MOST diverse Star Trek series of them all.

Do you enjoy insulting people?

Then why are you here if you hate it? Go do something more productive instead of spending negative energy on something you hate and leave people alone who like it. There's plenty of other Trek subforums on this website.
Contrary to what you free sailing nacells think, there are more star treks out there. If y'all stop responding to me, then I won't visit your corner and y'all can go about doing whatever discovery is doing.

What they are doing to Star Trek man. It's not going to get them new followers as they had hoped. It's just lifting up the idiots that belong in the fandom and nothing more. Tell me, what episodes do you remember that inspired deep introspective thought? Discovery is the devil, in my humble opinion.

Did you watch "New Eden" in Season 2?

Rick may be a sexist ass obsessed with female cast members' breast sizes but he understood how Trek worked and how to produce it. He knew what Gene was about.

I think so too, especially after watching those Short Treks episodes. If you watch Menagerie or The Cage you will get the "why are you yelling Mr. Spock" and "strange smile" reference. I thought it was great, and will be great, so long as they don't feel pressured to be woke

Trek has always been "woke."

"The Cage(TOS)," too, even if Pike mentioned feeling uncomfortable having a woman on the bridge. The second-in-command of the Enterprise was a strong woman and Yeoman Colt had a lot of lines in the episode.

Star Trek has always been woke.

If the term woke existed in the 1960s it would have been used to describe TOS.
How so? Male dominant lead, all subordinates follow him. Women wear skirts and flirtatious behavior between men and women, with men taking the initiative is commonplace. Male lethario in Kirk. Siulu wasn't making out with Bones, Uhura wasn't questioning Kirk's commands and saying "this is actually what we are going to do" etc etc.

A black woman and an Asian man being treated as equals to the white men was as "woke" back then as same sex couples and nonbinary characters is today on Discovery.

Are y'all scared about talking out against Discovery or something? Afraid that if it fails that there won't be more star trek?
