Why the hate for Disco?

How so? Male dominant lead, all subordinates follow him. Women wear skirts and flirtatious behavior between men and women, with men taking the initiative is commonplace. Male lethario in Kirk. Siulu wasn't making out with Bones, Uhura wasn't questioning Kirk's commands and saying "this is actually what we are going to do" etc etc.
Some southern TV stations refused to air the episode where Kirk kissed Uhura. Having a Russian, and Asian man and a Black Woman on the bridge were considered progressive. All of that was 'Woke' for the standards of the 1960s.

Also woman wearing skirts in the 60s were considered progressive from what I've been told. Also allegedly it was Grace Lee Whitney's suggestion, but I don't think there's any solid proof of that.

LOL yeah right. I actually read differently that it wasn't a big deal. You have to be really careful where you get your sources from.

It sucks. I really thought a Star Trek message board would be completely against it. I think I'm in the wrong place. Live long and prosper, suckers.

Into Darkness was a condemnation of the US' drone warfare, Trek's most on-the-nose moral message since TOS. Did you miss it?

That was one of the few redeeming aspects of the movie, but it was like 2 or 3 minutes in a mess of a story.

Look, this guy's a dropout. It's in his username. So what do you all expect? ;)

To be fair, the Daystrom Institute is VERY competitive.

I'm sure he would hate the use of profanity even more

What do you base this on?

the morals and messages in modern Trek

Mission Log fan?

Discovery is the devil, in my humble opinion.

Data's smile is weird.

Just wait until he gets his emotion chip...

Are y'all scared about talking out against Discovery or something? Afraid that if it fails that there won't be more star trek?

I talk out against Discovery all the time. I've made no secret of the fact I have issues with Discovery and even more with Picard. I just try to do it without being rude to other posters.

Also, there's already more Star Trek. If Discovery ends tomorrow, there's already Picard, Lower Decks, Short Treks and Ready Room to continue Trek, with Strange New Worlds, Section 31 and Prodigy on the way.

It sucks. I really thought a Star Trek message board would be completely against it. I think I'm in the wrong place. Live long and prosper, suckers.

The curtains close again...

If the comments were critiquing the constant barrage of "We are going to have a cast of "colored" actors for the sake of having "colored" actors and acting be damned. Oh and let's put in some homosexual and non-binary actors too" then yeah, I can commiserate with posts like that.
Looking forward to more quality contributions like this when he/she returns after naptime.

Well that was an exciting few pages of shitposting to read through. @DaystromDropout you've come to the attention of mods in two different forums and haven't modified your behaviour to the tone of the forum. It's hard to conclude anything other than you're being deliberately inflammatory.

Infraction for trolling, comments to PM.
