Ew is right; but it pulled no punches about where they stood. The one line of hers that made me cringe was "oral sensitivity".
Ew ... TMI. But that was the scripting, not her acting.
Come on, one of the best things in the movie is Zoe Saldana. She is hot and a great actress. She was great in The Terminal. She was fabulous in Guess Who. And she was fantastic as Uhura.
Damn it, she should be one of the big stars in Hollywood.
Ummm no. What Kool-Aid are you drinking?
She's servicably attractive, yes. I wouldn't say "Hot." There were scenes where the lines in her face made her look 40. And they did nothing to make her look like Uhura.
She hardly struck me as Uhura-like (all of the actors seemed mostly like the characters they were playing, Zoe didn't act like Uhura at all).
And she's a "good" actress but not good enough to be "one of the big stars in Hollywood."
That's why there's no love for her. She didn't stand out in any meaningful way beyond peeling off her tunic.
I thought she was great, too, and didn't mind that she wasn't Original Recipe Uhura. I think she successfully claimed the character for herself.

You know, I was wondering if she meant Oral or Aural?

Oh, I would Pegg Zoe anytime!
You know, I was wondering if she meant Oral or Aural?
Oh, I'm sure the script said "aural", but I just thought the double-entendre was kind of a cheap one.
Who is a half-way fan only (even-numbered movies only...)Well, besides Pegg...
