That's a first season episode. MA places their first meeting in 2261. So, SNW's current (third) season.
I wonder if fandom would have a fit if Kalomi's recast was Polynesian? ( as originally intended)

That would be my call if I was writing this thing. But my feeling is that they won't do Leila. I might be wrong. Who knows.
