Why is raktajino so awesome?

Ezri thought it tasted like crap so it might not be that awesome after all. Quite frankly I think all the raktajino drinking action is a trend started by Jadzia.

I'd definitely try it. I am a big coffe drinker, so any caffienated coffee style drink sounds good to me.

Bloodwine, on the other hand, sounds like roulette to me. Big risk drinking that concoction.

Bloodwine is just Sangria with a shot of ethanol. Yummy!

Martok had a Raktajino in the episode A Time to Stand. I think that's the only time we ever see a Klingon order one correct?

Frankly, what's always confused me is we've almost never seen Klingons drink raktajino. They always go for bloodwine, or, in the case of Worf, prune juice. Yet many of DS9's non-Klingon residents just love raktajino.

LOL, I never even caught that!

General Martok is the only Klingon that ordered up a Raktajino in an episode.

the real question is, if raktajino was so awesome, why didn't kirk drink it?

If pretty much everyone on DS9 is drinking them, then it's gotta be good.

When you reach the bottom of the mug, there's a little symbol that says if you've won or not. The prize was a Gowron plushy doll, but they changed it after the eyes kept freaking everyone out. So now the prize is a Martok plushy doll, extra huggable. When you squeeze him he goes "Arrrh!"

Or the bottom of the mug might read "You're a failure and a coward, and your organ is of insufficient girth!" or something to that effect.

I can only think of one case where Klingons are mentioned to be drinking it, in 'Trials and Tribble-ations', which is inferred by a remark the waitress makes when the undercover Niners ask for the drink. And the one time it's mentioned is when it's a vital point to setting up a joke.

So what gives?

Only the tourists drink it, no respectable Klingon would have anything to do with it. :klingon:

It's definately the Star Trek Starbucks. Everbody drinks it and it's got a foreign sounding name. ;)
Yep. Just like Starbucks and its selection of vile potions with Italian-sounding name. Come here and we'll show them what a real espresso is! ;)

Make mine a Rio Grande. :klingon:

Wow...what's with this tendency to resurrect dead threads lately?

I come in here and see this 'new' thead with all of these posts, and I think there is something brewing...and it's NOT raktajino!

*Stands down from mod-related red alert*

Actually it isn't even a Klingon drink. It's like French fries, a Mexican standoff, etc. The Klingons got tired of always explaining about that as well as why their foreheads lost the bumps at one point in their history, so they don't speak about it anymore.
:D
