Why are there so many references to Voyager in Streaming Trek, and so little to DS9 in comparison?

I doubt it's that. After all, Seven of Nine in Picard doesn't bring up the current whereabouts of anyone else from Voyager. Aside from Icheb.

The difference is, nobody aboard Voyager vanished without trace and ascended to godhood at the end, with a promise that they'd return sometime. There's a bit of a difference between that and characters we last saw arriving home at the end of a long journey.

They can still bring someone from DS9 over without addressing Sisko's status. Presumably his disappearance was widely known, meaning if he returned it too would be widely known and no need to mention it in a reunion conversation between say Picard and O'Brien.

I don't think the current writers knows that DS9 exists.
I would say "Good" if this was even remotely accurate. Since it is not I will simply stand by my opinion that DS9 is the TWOK/Mary Poppins of the Berman era-practically perfect in every way and needs no reference, follow up or reverence in current productions. The fan base reveres DS9 enough.

So I haven't read all the previous posts here, if we go purely by anecdotal evidence I think VOY is a little more remembered by casual viewers since it continued the ship-based format of TNG. Back when VOY was in initial broadcast, plenty of people tuned in every week, but they didn't know there was such a thing as DS9.

Did anyone else catch the reference in Lower Decks that Mariner SERVED ON DS9 AND KNEW WORF?

But yeah, they all hate DS9.

Conversely, recently when Tendi and T'Ana were talking about science officers, Tendi asked "A science officer? Like Jadzia Dax?" to which T'Ana replied "Who the [beep] is that? I don't know who that is. No, like Spock."

Could be a poke at general Trek knowledge out there with DS9 not being on the radar to a more average viewer.
