That just leaves me figuring out how to get BBC America for Doctor Who.

That’s incredibly frustrating! It’s baffling that there isn’t a major streaming service that has Doctor Who available.

Good News Everybody, AMC+ has DOCTOR WHO, with caveats*....

This was the primary sticking point for me cutting the cord as well. Every other important show was included in a streaming I already had, or I could live without it but not DW.

Long story short, Hardwick talked me into the free trial of AMC+ for the reason of the next new episodes of their Dead shows airing a week early. And it was around Halloween so getting Shudder would be a nice bonus.

While signing up they made me an offer I couldn't refuse - 1 year ad-free for $60. I caved.

*After first login I discovered DW was there BUT only the latest season (Flux & Eye of the Daleks) and 4 complete seasons of the animated redos. Macra Terror, Faceless Ones, Fury from the Deep and Evil of the Daleks. So, so long as having only the new episodes are what is important then there you go.

But one more thing, it's a crappy app, or I am too old to figure something about their new-fangled contraptions. The History of watched shows doesn't seem to function at all. I have to remember where I left off for every show, all the time.

I've not yet got it for four reasons:
1) As a mild protest against the decision to move Disco from Netflix.
2) I was disappointed by S3 of Disco.
3) There's nothing else on Paramount+ of interest.
4) I'm mostly disengaged from Trek fandom these days, so I am likely to avoid spoilers.

I might get it when SNW comes out and binge both Disco S4 and SNW S1.

AMC+ is the shittiest app I've ever installed. It kept logging me out, then just stopped working entirely. I canceled the service, deleted the app and just bought Doctor Who on Amazon.

My wife got us P+ for our anniversary, mostly so I could watch Strange New Worlds when it lands. My interest in Discovery is already waning (I can only see Sonequa Martin Green get teary-eyed so many times), and I won't spend another second on Picard. I tried Lower Decks; I didn't find it funny or dramatic, so it's a massive fail for me. I have no interest in the kiddie show.

On the other hand, I've found several things I was able to use P+ for, including a recent rewatch of Twin Peaks.

That’s incredibly frustrating! It’s baffling that there isn’t a major streaming service that has Doctor Who available. And ‪‪I remember not having The WB at first when ‪‪I moved many years ago, and lost access to Buffy, and Simpsons reruns, and being elated when my cable service finally brought it in. Not having access to your favorite channels makes cable impossibly irritating, and far too often they don’t give customers choice.
Sorry it does suck, when your go to fandom is difficult to get. Who has certainly picked up in the US over the last decade plus, but I can see where its not on everyones radar. For the CW (I LOVE Superman & Lois, and as much as the rest of the arrow verse has cratered in quality and production value, I still on occasion watch), but lie you its watch online the next day, and I am ok with it.

Most news I get from reading, and Paramount plus gets me a chunk of the US football I want to watch the rest I just wait a few hours to get)...

Gave cable up close to decade ago and went to the streaming with commercials usually a day or two later or in some cases purchasing the season on either iTunes or Amazon Prime, and its almost always been cheaper. Now with enough other services, I have since stopped buying media (which I used two do a lot, so that saves even more) with a handful of exceptions, and even with multiple streaming services still saving money on what I used to spend on cable.

Discovery's gone on break and likely won't return to PlutoTV but the international Paramount+. Shedloads more Star Trek is coming. Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds and probably more. Is it enough to make you part with your pennies?

After initial resistance, "Paramount+" in Australia won me with "Prodigy", of course. (Still no sign of Episode #6 yet, though.) P+ also has an Australian series, "Five Bedrooms", which had run its first season on regular TV but moved its next two seasons to P+. They also had "Star Trek" (2009) and "Star Trek Into Darkness".

I was thrilled when they finally backed down and granted us access to "Discovery" Season 3 instead of saving it up for the international launch of P+. I early await "Strange New Worlds" and the 4K "Star Trek - The Motion Picture: Director's Edition", both premiering on P+ in 2022.

In the new year, we suddenly received a menu including everything Trek except for "Picard" and "Lower Decks" (still licensed out to Amazon Prime), "Star Trek Beyond" (still licensed out to iTunes rent/buy), "Enterprise" and "Discovery" Seasons 1&2.
