At Shore Leave a few weeks ago, Anson Mount was clearly proud to be playing Pike, whom he knew all about before being cast in the part.

Terry Farrell was a big TOS fan, as I recall; she was geeking out when she got to dress up in the miniskirt.

Rapp and Mount seem to be quite knowledgable and enthusiastic about other series.

In Shatner's Star Trek Movie Memories book, he wrote that George Takei was far and away the biggest Trek fan out of the TOS cast, to the point of getting made up as Vulcan to be in a crowd scene at the end of STIII, because when else was he going to get a chance to wear a pair of Vulcan ears?

Kirstie Alley said in her interviews for TWOK that she fantasized about being Mr. Spock's daughter when she was a little girl watching TOS, and on some nights after shooting the movie she even wore her Vulcan ears home.

Wil Wheaton was a ST fan before getting TNG. He wrote a nice piece about his awkward early encounters with "William Fucking Shatner" in his book Just a Geek.

Tim Russ is a fan. He auditioned for Geordi LaForge on TNG, and several guest parts over the years, including a terrorist knocked out by a Vulcan nerve pinch in "Starship Mine," and a crewman on the Enterprise-B at the beginning of Generations. Then he ultimately became a regular part of the Trek Universe when he was cast as Tuvok on VOY.

I seem to recall that Jolene Blalock was a Trek fan before getting cast in ENT.

Anthony Rapp really dove into Trek fandom after he got cast on DSC. He was posting on Twitter about the Trek novels he was reading. It was really cool to see his enthusiasm for the world of Trek.

Wheaton I know is a fan. Issacs definitely isn't. He made that abundantly clear in the Jeopardy game he was in on the Cruise.
I know Shatner is an ArrowVerse fan. :)

I have extra respect the actors who've actually watched the episodes, too. A lot of times at conventions, some actors openly say they haven't watched episodes they're asked about that they're featured in.

A lot of the DSC cast seems to know their Trek!

From what I've heard from TNG, is Will Wheaton, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton and Whoopi Goldberg. Not sure about anyone else but those three actors are big star trek fans by their own admissions.

Although I'm fairly sure that he still enjoyed playing Lorca, and would gladly return as Prime Lorca if asked.

He said that as well. He even said he would do more conventions if he was open.

What about the other ENT actors? I don't hear much about them at conventions or anything, but I don't seek out info on it either, because I wasn't a big ENT fan.

I was just reading an interview with Rainn Wilson ("Harry Mudd" on DISCO) and he mentions how he used to attend Norwescon in Seattle as a kid. Ohmigod, I attended Norwescon religiously back in the eighties before I moved to the East Coast. We probably passed each other in the halls any number of times.

Rebecca Romjin was a huge fan from childhood.

I don't agree on Spiner. I think he's a Brent Spiner fan. I doubt he is a huge fan of the franchise.

Frakes is definitely a fan. I think his enthusiasm has grown through the years.

I don't know,. He sure appears in it a lot!

We had a Meet and Greet with him in San Francisco a couple of years ago. He was quite pleasant and funny. He has a sarcastic wit, which may come across poorly at times.

Spiner seems to be all-in at the conventions, and he shares many of the best behind-the-scenes TNG stories from the days of filming, but I think he's one of the actors who says he hasn't watched a lot of the episodes he's asked about that involved Data. Not a crime, but it's always nice to get the actors' perspectives in an informed way.
