Where is your confidence level now with ST:Dis?

So far it sounds like it will be a prequel and sequel at the same time.

Nope. It's a story set in a make-believe wold that we're told is "ten years before."

Stagecoach is not a prequel to Gunfight At The O.K. Corral.

I'm a bit nervous, because the stuff I've heard so far works great when there is a passionate vision behind it, but I'm not convinced there is yet.

And it's a prequel.

It's gonna be great, it"ll be the greatest and bestest star trek you've ever seen, it's gonna be YUUUUGEEE!!!

It's an Interquel. Don't ask me where I heard that, I don't remember.

Possibly Arthur C Clarke.

I don't have any expectations. If the story is good and entertaining, I'm willing to overlook a continuity error here and there ;).

My confidence-level is very much "undefined" at the moment. Good news (the actors and writers commited) and bad news (the teaser, Fuller) very much cancel each other out.

My confidence will get a very clear defined level as soon as the first plot description will hit the web, with adjustments for released photos and further descriptions. Right now it feels too early to give a clear answer though.

It has will have lots of competition on Netflix and other platforms in the sci fi genre in particular, if it doesn't blow everyone away in the first ten seconds than the franchise is finished.

So Confidence Level Low.

My Confidence Level is Above Average. Based on all we know and have been told, this has the makings of a what looks like a good show. Thirteen episode arc? I like it. Focus on a female second-in-command? Cool! Recurring Klingon characters involving the Empire's politics? I'm okay with that. New ship design? Got no problems with it, although the color in the initial teaser proved a tad startling. Gay regular character? Fine! Doug Jones as a new alien species? Oh, hell yeah! Set a decade before TOS? Cool! We hardly know anything about that period!

It all depends on execution, of course, but I count myself cautiously optimistic.

This is exactly how I feel. From word to word. I agree even with the color

I think enough of the old guard came onboard early on to ensure that any creative interference from the higher ups at CBS will not ruin the show.

I have the feeling that the first season will be a bumpy ride - if that is the case we have to make our concerns known and then it'll get better second season :) This is worst case scenario. I would prefer they hit the ground running of course :)
