When Do You Want To See Burnham Become The STD Captain?

Something crazy is bound to happen with that relationship

Edit: maby its only logical for burnham to act as she is "falling" for that shady character to get closer to him, because she can sence that something is fishy.
Not necessary a klingon spy, but somethings up with that dude.

I just want the protagonist to be the captain, because that's the only way we'll get full visibility into what's going on and into those meetings that the captain always has when he's dealing with a new situation. I don't fancy Michael as a captain, but she's the star of the show, so may as well be soon. Although Lorca is growing on me as a character. Ideally they'd just switch focus on Lorca and keep him in charge, while sending Michael back to prison after the war is won.

Hmmm... That's some alternative thinking for sure.

Not really, that's the current trend starting to sweep liberal Hollywood. Shows like CW's Supergirl are more overt with that kinda thing, but it exists.

STD was pushing the diversity gimmick hard during press. They aren't just going to keep Burnham on the sidelines, especially with a dangerous Captain that she is destined to mutiny against. It's so telegraphed.

I don't want Burnham to ever be captain. One of the things I liked about DS9 was that they broke away from the standard Captain/Starship formula and did something different by setting the show on a space station, and thereby created the opportunity to tell different kinds of stories than could be told on TNG. That is also one of the things I like about Discovery-- it breaks away from the standard (and tired) Trek formula in favor of something different. Making Burnham Captain would turn the show into just another Trek show like the rest without anything to really distinguish it from the rest.

Given her PTSD and her mutiny, I don't think she should be a captain.

I'm a Lorca fan. Therefore, he's doomed.

Thank you. You put it far better than I could think of.

Funny. I have a paranoia about that type of thing too. If I like something its days are numbered ;) I'm hanging by a thread with this show and shocked that Lorca is the thread. If he is to go then the later better than the sooner.

She's a mutineer. She should never be the captain.....ever. Of course the show will depict her redemption, and that's fine, but she should never command a ship. Even in this new era of Trek in which a cadet can zoom straight to command in the space of one mission, Burnham crossed a red line.

Nah, let him go out in the blaze of glory ;)

Even though Riker states that if he had joined the mutiny on the Pegasus, he would have been right?

The difference is, Riker's CO (Erik Pressman) was openly violating Starfleet regs. Mutiny against him would be justified.

Georgiou, OTOH, may have been acting overly cautious in dealing with the Klingons, but she was acting within the law.
