^ That one with all the robots that turn into cars?

Didn't Star Trek have a bald guy in charge of everything? The Space MacGyver show had a bald guy in charge at first. Are you sure that's not Star Trek?

December 7th, 1999. Pearl Harbor Day. My first post was an elaborate alternate take on the DS9 Finale where the Pagh Wraiths and the Dominion besiege the station.

Can't remember the exact date, since my original profile was lost, but it was in 1999.

May 14 2002. Oh, the lost hours... I could have had a doctorate in something by now if I had spent that time studying something of use! More than one doctorate perhaps...

I do think playtime is important though, and this place is an excellent de-stress-er. Well, most of the time.

. I guess that makes me both old and new.

Now you just need something blue.

Oh wait you're a smurf. You're all set!

:rommie::rommie::rommie: That's me!

^And you didn't stop there, didn't you?
Actually, I thought I would stop there. I didn't really have too much of an interest in joining a BBS. But once you're registered, it becomes very easy to reply.... :rommie:

I fiirst joined under the name Sheliak in March 2001. Didn't get much attention under that name so I changed to Miss Chicken in July of the same year. It is amazing that a change of name can make so much difference.

Or an avatar. No one knew who I was til this

started appearing beneath all of my posts. :D
Yes, Avatars can make quite an impression.

Actually I don't think I could remember who most members are without their avatars now. It's funny how you get spoiled like that. But I know people would not have that problem with me. I am so memorable... and blue.

My memory is terrible these days and I can't seem to remember exactly when the crash happened now. Can anyone pin it down for me? Was it November 2002?

An easy solution is just to print out all of your posts, slap the title, "A Thesis on the Interaction of Human Uncertainties" on the top, and submit. :D

^ I'm at nearly 10,000 posts - it's scary. I wonder how long it would take someone to read them back to back, or how high the stack if they were printed on A4...? Not nearly as many as some, but since I have not been in the habit of game threads or the lounges, that seems like quite a lot of posts to me... having said all that, neither were any of these deeply reasoned nuggets of philosophy, unfortunately!

At 10,000 posts I felt the same way, then I hit 43,000 posts. I've got several reality type novels if I want them. :D

I am exactly the same way. I never really post in the lounges anymore, at least not since I left DangerMouse behind. Game threads are not really something that interests me either. So about 90% of my posts are actual conversation. It may not be good conversation though but it is plenty to make into a book of my own. :bolian:

(I had no idea how many posts I actually had until just a minute ago. It is a little over 9,000 and that shocks me. I don't know when or where I found the time.)

I joined June 25th 2003:)
That means that I have been a member here for little over 7 years allready:techman: Time flies, huh?:vulcan:
Always been happy to be here, the best forum in the internet, for me anyway:D

(with the Wright reviews in there somewhere as well)
Oh yeah, Jim Wright's Delta Blues were so much fun! He made his synopses SO worth reading with hilarious color commentary. I keep meaning to save them all for later.

Seems like 2001 was a good year.
That was the year of Voyager's end and Enterprise's beginning. It was also a time when internet fandom was really broadening its appeal beyond the most computer literate into the realm of your everyday surfer. People were learning that it was okay to create a username and password, that you could have fun online interacting with people between standard, safe email and iffy, scary chat rooms. And there was still a little edge to keep things exciting. It was a great time to surf. :D

Add me to the list of people who ended up here through Jim Wright's reviews.

What's crazy is that I was in the middle of my freshman year of high school back when I joined, and now I teach high school chemistry.
