I guess those of us who joined while it was all still new and exciting are the hardcore ones who've stayed (the old-timers seem to be outnumbering the newcomers right now)... all because of that initial feeling, and the nostalgia, perhaps hoping it will be the same again soon.

I joined because a fellow poster from a Farscape board (Farscapeworld.com) recommended the place to me... great guy, stop posting by the time I joined. Maybe it was something I said.

No, the one where bar bums turn into starship captains and intellectual rationalists turn into homicidal maniacs.

It kind of turned into Star Trek later, before it turned into nuBSG.

He was talking about Stargate: Universe. Which, um... no.

Are you sure he was? I thought he was referring to the new Trek film. I demand answers!

Either way I'm correct, though. BSG is better than the new Trek film and certainly much better than SGU.

2008. The first picture of the new Enterprise had been released, and my first or second post was in the shitstorm reaction thread. I posted something like "I like it. I wonder what Matt Jefferies would have said about it?", and someone immediately quoted it and said something like "Before or after he slit his wrists in horror?", and I realized that Star Trek fans really are like Comic Book Guy. Thankfully not all of them:lol:.

I meant that the Stargate franchise became more Trek-like as it went along, until Universe, which is an imitation nuBSG.

    All three are horrible. :rommie:

Space MacGyver was Stargate... I knew there was a "star" in there... So what the hell is Star Trek? Is it the that movie with all the lens flare where the guy from that White Castle movie was the samurai?
