When did the Janeway hatred truly start to coalesce?

If you change the last Act, "THRESHOLD" is a very solid episode. You have good character beats for Tom and you have a cool body horror story. It's really only the evolving part and the full on salamander appearance that ding the episode.

Unlike "SPIRIT FOLK", "FALSE PROFITS", "FURY", or several others that are just bad from start to finish.

It's been remarked that if you start "Spirit Folk" at 11:49:35 on New Year's Eve, Harry will kiss the cow at exactly midnight.

Didn't someone in the thread about Underrated episodes just opine their fondness for this one?

Sorry, that sounds catty, just an example of how everyone loves something...

I bolded the relevant statement that I fully agreed with.

And that's perfectly fine with me. As I've often said, I rather liked "Shades of Gray", an oft-reviled TNG episode.

Indeed. I have defended episodes many others find bad, like "MOVE ALONG HOME" or "Masks".

It's okay for others to be wrong. ;)

Maybe his name should have been Dr. Horndog...

And even then, it's quite possible the death penalty has long since been abolished by Janeway's time (which is 80 years later), unless there's a more recent mention of it which I'm not aware of.

We went back to Talos IV in Discovery, after the Cage yet before the Menagerie.

If anyone here is familiar with foreign dubs of Voyager ("foreign" relative to the original English track, that is), please let us know if Janeway sounds less/more severe in French/Spanish/Italian/Arabic/Korean/Swahili/et cetera.

In Italian she sounds remarkably similar to the original.

Not sure what you’re saying, however…

The crush she had on him was hardly his fault.
In fact I remember being in a similar position once and not realising at all the situation.
Not his fondest dream, just a memory the situation reminded him of.

    Hardly his fault.

I doubt sex was high on his priorities at the time.

Kirk and Quark could compare notes. Maybe do each other's nails, too.

salamanda sex was Janeway pushed into a sexual press, that would not have been her first choice. Which happened to Kirk all the time.
Repelling a woman is reverse sex which can be just as complicated and stressful as forward sex.
Doing the right thing, feels good.
    You know he's a masochist.
He won that girl by a feat of strength and skill, its disingenuous not to take T'Pring home to Iowah to Iowa to meet Wynonna.
I was alluding towards masturbation, but even looking or showering would still be a violation, but Jim wasn't thinking about anything Janice was definitely doing to or with his body.
