What would you order at Siskos?

Shrimp gumbo -- hold the tube grubs, if you please, Mr. Sisko! (I always did think it was cool that Joseph Sisko catered to Nog's Ferengi taste buds.)

I'm sure he has a few alien customers coming there too. I wonder how he his Plomeek Soup is? If he spices it up with Cajun spices.

I have no idea what food would be typical for New Orleans... is there something vegetarian thats typical? Than I´d try that.
Otherwise I might order a really hot vegetarian chillie with cheese springled on top and toasted bread to dip inside.

I'd probably do that too I'd tell him what I'm in the mood for now that I think about it[A Steak something like that and I'm sure he'll make the best damn thing I've ever tasted]

Gosh, what wouldn't I order? I love jambalaya, I love etouffee (had to look up how to spell it, though), I love gumbo, I love crawfish...

Come to think of it, I can make pretty fair gumbo myself, but crawfish are a little hard to come by around here - I'd have to catch my own. So I'm thinking crawfish. Heck, why not crawfish in the gumbo? I had some crawfish gumbo when I was in New Orleans a couple years ago, and it was fantastic.

If the food is all free, wouldn't the crowds be catastrophically huge? There'd be lines that are miles long trying to get into the place.

Sisko's isn't probably the only restaurant there in New Orleans. So everywhere is probably packed.

Heck during "Home Front" "Paradise Lost" Sisko saw lots of customers outside [The Security Officers] so I'm sure with the way things work there....plus since everyone has replicators then at their homes....

Well, assuming they had a real CURE in the 24th century for acid reflux disease...

I'd go for jambalaya!!!

(The sad irony is that I actually got sick for the first time--really badly sick because of my reflux, though I didn't know it at the time, was when I bought this frozen jambalaya dinner to eat...while watching the episode where the Siskos fly the Bajoran ship to Cardassia!)

Oh, you suffer from that too? My sympathies. I've got it bad. Vanilla Ice cream helps, sometimes even better than the medicine my doctor prescribed.

And, like Gumbo....Jambalaya?? What is that?

Two of the great American dishes, that's what. If you really want to know, RandyS (I don't know you so I can't tell if you're kidding or not), go here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/283100

I'm no expert in Louisiana cooking - my grandfather was a Cajun from Louisiana but his was the last generation of the family to live there. But what's on that page fits in with my knowledge, such as it is.

Delicious. Just delicious. I am particularly fond of my mother's gumbo, and in fact I could eat some right now. But it would be hard on people who can't stand spicy food! I can't get enough of it myself, but then I have a cast-iron stomach.
