2 M'Benga's might be easier to reconcile.
I'm going into this episode with an open mind. I think the one episode that surprised me in Season 3 was the Zombie episode, because I remember going in not looking forward to it and coming out, thinking it was one of the better episodes of the series. I just hope the Puppet episode has some deepness into it with the comedy. The reason why Angel's Smile Time worked was underneath the comedy aspects, it was a pretty dark episode.
Is he just going to be a puppet in the sense that he's cute, fuzzy, and Muppet-ish, and therefore amusing? Or will someone try to control him/have to operate him like one?

There's nothing incompatible with SNW's M'Benga and TOS's M'Benga
A difference in rank. Plus, SNW M'Benga appears to be older than TOS M'Benga.

It's just the beard. Riker looks younger in Insurrection than he does in most of TNG because he shaved.
AFAIK M'Benga's rank wasn't known in TOS, and how the actor looks doesn't matter.

The SNW actor is 41. The TOS actor was 27. And this is a few years before A Private Little War.
So, not the beard.
Of course Paul Wesley is 43. He was born the same summer that Wrath of Khan was in the theater.
I have a feeling if he shaved he would look much younger. I would have guessed the original M'Benga actor was older than that to be honest, I would have put him early-mid 30s
Kirk and Scotty's actors's ages are a bit wonky.
SNW actor looks younger. TOS Actor looks older. Split the difference.
Baby face Scotty is a bit wonky, but I'm loving the actor.
Scotty just hasn't started hard drinking yet. A few years as chief engineer will take care of that. Between the stress of keeping the ship running and the single malt, he'll age up real quick.
