What would you do with $100 million?

Pay off the house and upgrade

Travel

Many charities I've wanted to support

Invest

Trust funds for nieces and nephews, the young ones...older ones would get something

Add on a library/music room and spend many quality hours in same

I would purchase my own Popeye's chicken franchise and put it in the front yard of the castle I would build.

I would hire my siblings to work at the food joint and give them decent salaries.

Set up trust funds for my children. Make them learn tongue twisters and perform them flawlessly as a requirement to draw out funds.

Pay off the debts of my mother and get her a decent house and automobile. Hire Chuck Norris to make a personal appearance at her home.

Buy that Star Trek bridge for sale on ebay and install it in my castle. Then build a replica of the TOS bridge for my castle living room.

Get cosmetic surgery to make me look just like Shatner circa '65 or Beyonce '05. I haven't made my mind up yet.

Hire someone to carry all my stuff, spoon feed me, and massage my feet everyday.

Hire Bill Maher to make a personal appearance at my home. Then I sick my 800 pound gorilla on him. (Y'know the one I put in the back yard of my castle!). After the gorilla smashes him I hire someone to dispose of the paste that was Bill Maher.
(Don't forget to have someone spray down the gorilla.)

Put a huge teenager rec center right in the middle of town, just because it would tick off lots of old fogies!!

Open up my own top of the line clothing store! (which kind of depends on which surgery I choose!)

Get my wife cosmetic surgery to look like Beyonce or Bill Shatner...depending on which surgery I choose.

I would buy my best friend a completely restored 1972 Monte Carlo. (Won't he be surprised!)

After they become comfortable in their positions at my Popeye's, I would fire my siblings and put competent people in those jobs.

I don't know what I'd do with the other 80 million. Give me some time to think about it.

Get completely out of debt, and give whatever she needed to my girlfriend.

I wish I still had relatives to help out, but there's only my brother, and as things currently stand, that worthless drunk doesn't deserve anything.

I'd spend it on myself, and the only people I would help are my family (sis and her husband, my brother and mom).

I don't think I'd give to any charities other than SPCA or similar.

I'd by stuff that I don't need but just want.

Get cool cars.

And make people do fucked up things for handouts, for example give someone $10k to tattoo my face over their face.

And get a sweet ass home, sort of the one like that I went to a Xmas party too. It had 10-12 washer dryers, including one for the dog. The dog also had it's own shower. It also has 17 fifty inch plasma TV's.

In general, I'd indulge in my own base pleasures, plus go to space for $20 million.

Maybe a therapy?

- Pay the pesky taxes and get that out of the way
- Invest 60-75% of the remainder
- Pay off debt. Which, actually, is only my mortgage
- Give my parents and immediate family an adequate amount so that they can pay off debt or just live more comfortably
- Buy a new house
- Buy a new car. Or two. Or three. Nothing flashy or absurd. But I like cars.
- I *might* offer a small amount of money to my closest friends. Or buy them cars. Or maybe start college funds for their kids. Giving money to people can be a slippery slope so I am not sure how that would work.
- Quit my job.
- Travel.
- Set aside a certain amount of money from my investments to donate to several charities on an annual basis. Possibly even start up my own foundation for a worthy cause.

I would LOVE to be one of those anonymous people that pays off customers' Christmas bills. I'd like to walk into some big store (like a grocery store or a Target), hand out gift cards (with high dollar amounts) to people and then just walk out again.

Ooh! That sounds like fun! Along the same lines, I'd like to ask people on the street (especially families), "Hello, have you eaten today?" and hand out high dollar gift cards to a nice restaurant in that area. Or go to a homeless shelter and hand out gift bags each one with the following; a two year membership to a fitness club or the YMCA, a $500 gift card for a grocery store, a $100 gift card for a nice restaurant, a $500 gift card for a clothing store, and a cell phone with one year prepaid service. I'd also donate to the shelter itself, buy new blankets, pillows, food. Oh, I could go crazy with $100 million.

I think anything more than $3-5 million would be overkill for me. I could easily live on that amount for the rest of my life, as well as provide for my kids. I don't need or want a big, fancy house, nor am I interested in expensive cars or jewelry. I'd want to do something good with it, so I'd probably use the vast majority of it (90%+) to set up a nonprofit foundation or something. As for what it would do... I don't know! I guess I'd have to figure that out. But that part of it would interest me more than whatever mundane things I'd spend money on for myself and my family. I guess I don't really have any outlandish desires where the only thing holding me back is a large sum of money.

Hmm, causes I'd want to help. I'd want to donate to every organization I've volunteered with, and to those causes in general. Literacy programs, animal shelters, and domestic violence programs. I'd want to take a lot of it to India for some sort of social programs. I'd definitely want to work on sex education there. Either create or donate to existing programs that work in rural areas there.

I'd give set amounts to family members. My sister would run through hers the fastest, or maybe she'd be the one who ends up using it to make an even larger fortune. I'd want to give money to my parents and siblings, my in-laws, and extended family for both my side of the family and my husband's. A little money could go a long way for some of my more distant Indian relatives.

I'd love to be able to take care of my parents considering everything they have provided for me. I particularly want my dad to just relax. And give my parents-in-law the ability to travel wherever they want to, because I know how much my mother-in-law would enjoy that.

Would definitely want to set money aside so that my husband could put together his dream start-up. He loves working and he's brilliant and I can't imagine what he'd be capable of if he didn't have the same restrictions he has now.

I'd save money so that if I did have children, they'd be well taken care of in the future.

I would like to help out friends as well, including internet friends.

Have I run through all the money yet? I'd want to save some of it so I could just use it as situations arise. Like if I learned of someone who was in a really bad spot, something to help them get through it.

Other dreams include creating my own addiction treatment and counseling center. Maybe a series of community counseling centers that handle a range of issues. I think I could quite happily devote my life to that.

I think he might mean that of you had $100 million you might be able to pay for a really good rehab program for your brother.

A) retire
B) travel between Australa and Canada in first class
C help in-laws, my mum and my severely disabled cousin.
D) build proper accessible housing in this city for people with disabilities, not the joke we're living in now.

Pay off debts.

Fix up some minor health issues.

Give my SO enough money to live comfortably... somewhere else.

Set my kids up with a house and a trust that paid the (taxed) interest of say 2mil into their accounts. They can work or not.

Buy my Dad his own place fre and clear, and buy his shares, that were reduced to practically nothing in the GFC, at pre 2008 prices.

Give my 3 siblings 2mil each.

Do a few things my Mum asked me to do before she passed away.

Build my dream house, which is rather large and includes a library, writing room and (small) recording studio.

With that much, it would be tempting to make my town car a Bugatti Veyron, but definitely some kind of new car that is somewhere between practical and sporty.

Travel. Lots and lots of travel.

Finance a TV series I've written. Hopefully one should open the doors to more, like a showreel or calling card. :)

Do a 'Secret Millionaire' kind of thing, without the cameras, help people who really need it, without looking for glory.

That's enough to be going on with.

spend it on a third series of twin peaks. and hope no one notices everyones older.

and a boob job.

Open my own private equity firm or start a hedge fund.

Alternatively, buy all of Holdfast's favorite clothiers and change their focus to off-the-rack only. ;)
